The schedule I received indicates events start at 8:45, but it doesn’t show the actual interview on the schedule of events. So is that before 8:45 or it’s sometime during the day but not delineated on the schedule?

in their initial email they should have said when your interview is

Mine said the same - we arrived at 8:30 and then they gave us each a personal detailed schedule including the exact time of our interview.

Hope that everyone that has had their interview so far has enjoyed it!! If you were here on a Tuesday and did an afternoon tour then you probably saw me studying in the anatomy lab🙂 if you have any questions, feel free to ask me anything!

Is there/will there be a facebook group for the class of 2024 to find housing/roommates/etc?

Current students, is there an information session or welcome weekend before new student orientation in August? Just trying to figure out if I need to make any travel plans 🙂

There is an accepted students day!

Hey! Do acceptances, waitlists, and rejections typically all go out on the same day? Does anyone know if it will be by mail or email?

It will be an email to tell you to check the portal! Not entirely sure if it is the same process for waitlist/denials but probably!

Anyone know what time of day Tufts will most likely send out the decisions?

For what I remember, I think everyone gets the DVM/MPH email and the feedback email. It should be soon! There was an email that got sent out recently that said there is a meeting Wednesday (tomorrow) with the Dean to talk about finalized admissions decisions. Hopefully that means they will be sending out decisions soon! I remember getting my email around 4-5.

I got one of the December acceptances, and it came a little before 10:00 AM Eastern Time.

I don’t recall getting this email. Did everyone get this one?

Check your spam? I'm assuming that everyone received the email. It only was sent two days ago. Did you receive the email about the feedback form for the interview?

I thought they said during interviews that you could only apply to the DVM/MPH program after you were admitted. I was speculating and was wondering if everyone got that email too.

From what I remember, it wasn’t an email specifically for if you applied to the duel program (I didn’t). It was just talking about the program in general. I don’t have access to the email I got my acceptance emails on so I don’t remember exactly what it said. It definitely was not just for people that applied to the duel program because I did not haha.

I think maybe they meant after you’re admitted to the regular dvm program?

Current students... do many of you live alone?

I live with my spouse, but my friends mostly all live with roommates in houses around campus. Only one has lived alone since first year, and one of them moved into her own apartment in second year.

Roommates are a good idea if you can tolerate it -- the housing market around here is much better for full-sized houses vs. apartments. A lot of the apartment complexes are kind of a rip off imo (particularly for 1 bedroom).

^^seconding that, I live with 3 other first years! Everyone I can think of either lives with other students or lives with their significant others, I can't really think of anyone in my class who lives alone. If you're worried about finding people to live with, there's a Facebook group made for accepted students and you can post things about yourself/what you're looking for there so it's easy to find roommates!

I’m hoping to live on my own, but maybe your thoughts will change my mind. Do you find it easy to live with other vet students (in terms of stress and living styles)?

In my house especially it's super easy for us to all live together! We have a relatively large house so we all have our own areas which is great. I'm pretty laid back when it comes to classes/exams while some of my roommates aren't as relaxed so sometimes their stress comes across to us, but it's nothing dramatic and we're all really open to communicating and helping each other out. Living styles can get a little iffy in our common areas, but still we've made our plans for cleaning all the spaces! I also know I would not be doing well if I was living on my own (had a single room in undergrad for a few months and I was miserableeeeeee), so for me I knew I would do best living with others. I got to know them really well over Facebook before agreeing to live with them which definitely helped! I also live a few hours away and never traveled to see this house before we signed the lease so I put 100% of my trust in them which probably helped our relationships:laugh:

Are there any walking distance apartments? I can’t drive 🙁

Not really. There's one house on campus that houses four people (one from each year) but you'd still need a car to go get food or drive to other places. Tufts is in a somewhat rural area and things aren't super close together. I don't know anyone who doesn't have a car

Some people live alone but it's veryyyy expensive. I really wanted to live alone but it just wasn't feasible.

I live with two other classmates and I'm really lucky that we all click and have very similar personalities and I'm really glad I chose to live with them.

There's also the option of living with students from other years and I think some people have roommates that aren't vet students

was just in the admissions office trying to gauge if it was gonna be today or tomorrow because i heard tomorrow as well and historically it’s been on a Tuesday... so patterns They were very giggly and shady... and said they hope it’s some time this week so who knows lol
