And they're harder to get than honors?

What's considered "good" - having one or two letters of distinction per year? Or just having one in the field you're planning on pursuing?

And they largely factor into UCLA's AOA?


I reaaaaaaaaaaally want to go to UCLA Med...
 
I think the answer to your question is: yes. Plus, no one really cares about your 1st 2 years' grades. Just do well on step 1 to prove your ability.
