If you want to stay in your state, your state school will probably give you just as many opportunities and save you a chunk of money to buy a house or something later on.

Are you a fan of Northwestern's super PBL?

Interesting poll results so far...Thoughts from anyone else?

do you know how much class time will be required in feinberg 3.0? it seemed like a lot from the second look pamphlets

Play it safe and avoid being a guinea pig. Head for Michigan!!

I think it depends a little bit on what specialty you are interested in. From what I understand, your higher ranked options may allow you to enter into extremely competitive specialties ( Derm, Ortho, Ophth, Radiolgy) while a lower ranking school may make it more difficult. Also, if you are interested in a very high paying specialty the cost of med school matters much less than if you are considering a primary care specialty.

With all the cuts that are coming, going into debt is a bad idea. $140K + interest is a lot of money. I think in the end you will be a lot happier not being in so much debt...
