Why do you think it was your hardest interview?

Just because the questions they asked were so specific. It was sometimes hard to come up with a life experience that fit the scenario they asked about. Some of the things I was like oh I definitely know a time where that happened and others it was like uhhhh let me think

Any idea on when we'll hear back? I loved this school so much!
They still have interviews this Friday and Saturday; so I would assume either next week (late) or the week after that.

Had my interview last Friday - however did anyone else find it weird that they didn’t mention anything about tuition/financial aid during the info session/tour? I feel like that’s a huge part of any school you choose

I remember a slide where she mentioned that tuition is set in July (or something like that) but then mentioned where we could find information about the last few years for comparison with the assumption that it will go up a little bit again this year. They also talked a little about scholarships and financial aid through FAFSA!

I found the tuition info in the packet that they handed out. It is on a right hand side of one page of the hand-out. I went over the hand-out like 3 times to locate that little piece of information!

What do we wear for the equine center visit during the evening?
I had my interview on Feb 1st and this was my experience. The equine center tour was definitely casual and I was glad to have changed out of my suit before going as I was much more comfortable in jeans and a nice sweater. There many were people who, like myself, changed (some going as casual as yoga pants) and others who did not, but certainly as long as you don't show up in PJ's nobody will think twice about what you are wearing. 🙂 I'd say dress for the weather and for your own physical and psychological comfort!

good luck this weekend to everyone interviewing!! loved the school and all the students/professors/staff were super welcoming and nice

Are we notified of the acceptance or waitlist or rejection status change through email, phone calls, or snail mail? Next week, right?

They said they like to call the ones that were accepted but they still email them & that everyone else gets an email too I believe!

I really hope we hear back this next week. I interviewed the first weekend and although it really hasn’t been that long, the wait is killing me! I LOVED this school so much when I visited and it is definitely my top choice

Same here! And the more I think about my interview, the worse I think it went and it’s driving me crazy :hungover:

I definitely don't feel the most comfortable about my interview today; the questions were really tough. I legitimately couldn't think of situations that related to a particular question.

I felt very similar. Absolutely the hardest interview I've had this cycle (and it's my 4th). The questions were very specific and I struggled coming up with answers for a few of them. But my interviewers were very kind! One was on the support staff for the vet school and she made me feel really comfortable!

I also had a lady on the support staff - I bet we probably had the same person! And this was my 3rd interview this cycle (one more on Monday), but it was my most difficult too.

If your Monday interview is at Illinois I'll be there too!

That it is! I'm ready for these interviews to be done, this travelling is exhausting!
Awesome maybe we will run into one another at the info sessions tomorrow or on Monday! 100% agree about the traveling

Probably! Just look for the 6'5" guy and that's me.

Just to let everyone know at the information session today acceptance offers will be going out this coming Wednesday/Thursday. You will be called if accepted and notified via email if you are wait listed or rejected.

What else did they mention in the information session? I missed it this morning

They just gave an overview of the school, general rotation information, FASFA is due by May 1st and tuition won’t be set until July which is their “fiscal year” to figure out how to delegate money

My stomach is doing somersaults! Good luck everyone!

Does anyone know if OOS students can apply for IS tuition after the first year?

From what I heard at my interview weekend, it is incredibly difficult. I think you have to prove that you moved to Minnesota for reasons other than school 🙁 but I could be wrong!

It's possible but it has changed a lot recently due to staff changes. I have heard it has been more difficult for the class ahead of mine, and I've heard that the goal of the residency office is that you have reasons other than school for coming to Minnesota. However everyone has a different experience, so heresay isn't the most reliable. If you want to know for sure, contact Academic and Student Affairs/Admissions and they can answer your questions, or direct you to the residency office themselves.

If we ask before decisions go out would that influence things?

Admissions has asked student ambassadors to direct these questions to them and it's a really common question. They are expecting it, and no one would count it against you because it's a very fair quesiton.
Also, MN does everything based off of Academics, Experiences, and Interview on a number system, so there's no way for this type of thing to influence decisions anyway.

Anyone else here over analyzing how they answered each question? Haha I’m so ready for the wait to be done!
People keep saying the 22nd. I just remember them saying it would be by the end of February.... I'm hoping sooner rather than later - the suspense is killing me..... I can't stop thinking about how I responded and if it was a good answer or not

Does anyone remember them saying the area code of the phone number the call would come from? I think at my info session they said 612 but I can’t remember for sure. I get so many spam calls that I usually just decline and I really want to make sure I answer it if I get a call!

She said it would likely be a 612 number but they have several people who make acceptance calls so there is a small chance that it would be something else.

The area in general has 612 numbers and a lot of university numbers are 612-624 or 612-625.
651 is also a common area code.
