I actually interviewed on 3/10 and the group consisted of flex DPT applicants only.

I also interviewed 3/16 for the St. Augustine Campus and haven't gotten anything. I sent Emily an email this morning just to check in. I know there were some funky date extensions because of the hurricanes last fall so just waiting anxiously now.
She just said for St. Aug campus that she is hoping to hear from the admissions committee by next week so it's still in the process!

This morning has been interesting. I got a call from Erin asking if I was able to start at the Austin campus. I live in California and there is no way I could start in May. So I declined.
BUUUTTT
I received an email this morning at about 10:00 that I was accepted to the program! I just got an email maybe 45 minutes ago though that just said "Decisions CASM would like to recall the message, "Admissions St. Augustine San Marcos". Soooo Im pretty uncertain about the status of my admission? Tried calling 3 different numbers but all went to voicemail. If anyone has had the same thing happen please comment!

Hi all! So I actually applied to the summer 2018 dpt flex program at the Austin campus and got an interview for April 14th! Does anyone have an interview or know someone else who does also?
Congrats on the interview invite! The interview was pretty laid back..The school is really focused on the concepts of professionalism and lifelong learning, so make sure you can refer back and elaborate on those terms as questions are asked. Lastly, relax and be yourself! Good luck!

So this past Monday I received my acceptance email from usa austin campus for the summer 2018 dpt flex starting in May. I am frantically looking for places now. Is anyone looking for a roommate or know good resources to use when looking for apartments?

When we interviewed for Fall 2018 start (Residential- Austin), Jill Jennings said that if we were accepted they would provide us with information on who is looking for roommates, apartments nearby, etc. If you log onto your USA portal they have some of that information located under student services->housing. If you are pursuing a DPT flex there, you could probably find an apartment based on affordability, not necessarily super close to the Austin campus since you will travel to school less and probably could find a job during your schooling.

I think she said after three weeks you can email her for an update (just because some emails were going to spam and whatnot). Good luck!

Awesome! Thank you! I was looking on the portal to see if I saw anything and probably overlooked it.
I haven't received anything regarding enrollment forms or anything of that sort, although admissions said they were anticipating sending those out last week! You haven't received any of that information as of today right? I think in the initial acceptance letter there was an email to reply to if you were declining.

Congrats I have my interview this weekend! Any tips/suggestions?
The interview for the San Marcos Flex program is super relaxed. Everyone from my interview got in - just don’t say anything dumb. the interview was a group interview where we basically all talked together about a few questions that were asked to us.
When I asked my classmates, they all said everyone from their interview got in except for 1 person out of all the interview groups. Chances are you will be accepted and the interview is just them confirming that you are what your application shows you are.
This is not true for the residential program though, I’m just speaking from experience from the San Marcos flex program.
Absolutely make sure you dress and look professional for the day. When in doubt, overdress instead of underdress.

I emailed Jill Jennings on Saturday to see if she could give me any kind of update on when decisions might be sent out, so hopefully I'll hear back from her today

Interview groups for flex are usually smaller. There were 5 in my group including me. Other groups had about 10 but they were split into 2 groups once the day started.
One group will have an intro/orientation type thing first where they cover things like tuition, clinical education requirements, expectations from the program, etc. And the other group will have the actual interview of about 30 minutes. Then you guys will switch.
Questions I remember were why do you want to be a PT and where do you see yourself in 10 years. Also come up with a reason why you’re attracted to the school, for me it is because they have an emphasis in manual therapy that most schools don’t and I’m attracted to that type of specialization personally.
I can’t stress enough to show up dressed and looking as professional as you can. That was the first thing that was mentioned when we stepped in the room, the interviewer complemented everyone for dressing and looking professional.

Aw congratulations on your acceptance!!! That’s so awesome. What kind of questions did they ask you during the interview if you don’t mind sharing? I’ve been told to keep responses between like 1-3 minutes?
