Still haven’t heard back from Jill Jennings about the 3/16 Austin interview. Maybe someone should try calling her?

Has anyone heard from the 3/16 interview for the St. Augustine Campus? I know when I spoke to the admin specialist they were still waiting on answers from the committee, so just figured I would check in
I'm waiting as well. I called Emily on Friday and she just said this week we'll know; she hadn't received anything from the admissions committee

I feel like we probably won't hear back until this Friday. I went back and looked through posts from people who interviewed for fall positions in February, and a lot of them were posting that they got accepted 4 weeks after their interviews

I was emailing Chelsea and last Friday she said to expect to hear back within the next 2 Fridays!

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone who got an interview could post some questions they got asked? I have an interview coming up so any advice would be helpful :)

Hey, I recently interviewed at Austin Campus for Fall 2018- Residential and received acceptance. My interview was at the very end of the day, which actually turned out to be awesome because we were able to chat longer with the interviewer than the allotted 30 minute period. The faculty and students make a point to make the interview day as relaxed as possible. Also, you have 60 other people who are in the same boat and nervous like you will probably be, you aren't alone!

I was in the interview with 2 other students and one professor, the interview became more like a conversation than grilling us about why we would be a good fit. We were asked questions like:
How will your experience up to this date help you in this program, and even more so, as a future clinician?
How will you handle the demands of this rigorous program? Why this program?
What leadership roles have you taken?
Where do you see yourself professionally in 5 years? 10 years?

The interviewers do not have access to your grades- so they are assessing you on maturity, professionalism, and personality more than anything. I stressed my clinical experience as a PT aide over the last few years as well as any TA positions I had at the university I attended. My biggest advice to you would be to relax, be confident and show them why you would be a great addition to the PT profession. Good luck!!

Out of curiosity, have you heard about any other students getting accepted to the Austin fall program?

I haven't heard of others getting accepted, besides the 1 or 2 that have posted on here! I hope you hear back soon- the waiting game is awful!

Anyone else interviewing this Friday, 4/13, at the Austin Campus?

Aw congratulations on your acceptance!!! That’s so awesome. What kind of questions did they ask you during the interview if you don’t mind sharing? I’ve been told to keep responses between like 1-3 minutes?
The first question that was asked was “why do you want to be a PT and what would make you a good clinician?”
The next question was what was the best advice you’ve ever received and how did you apply it...be specific”
After that he asked everyone a scenario based questions.
What would you do if you saw one of peers cheating?
If you were assigned an individual project but you procrastinated and you made it a group project would you let your professor know?
And the last question was why we chose USA?

I was wait listed and notified for fall 2018 at saint Augustine today but someone from their Miami campus reached out and offered me a position over there. Exact same program and resources so I took a spot there for fall 2018. They still had some summer and fall spots open. Wishing you the best! Hopefully you haven't heard because you got in!

Just a heads up some waitlist emails are going out for the 3/16 San Marcos interviews. My friend received a waitlist email today. I haven't heard anything back yet for the same interview date though.

Hi everyone,
I was accepted to San Marcos DPT residential program in early March but haven't received any enrollment or deposit forms. Anyone else in the same boat or have you gotten the forms? Just wondering if I should call them again since it's been a while.

No it was in my normal inbox! I just received the official acceptance letter and my status changed on the website. The email was titled "University of Saint Augustine Admissions Decision"

Yeah! It was only because they had reached out and I wanted this program. The Miami program is run by the same DPT and it is the exact same format and everything. There are also amazing opportunities in Miami so it's definitely something to ask about if you receive a wait list or rejection. But fingers are crossed I hope it works out!

Anyone hear anything from the Austin campus yet?

I interviewed at the Austin campus feb 16th and got accepted March 6th for Fall 2018 but I haven’t heard anything from the school about enrollment info.

I called yesterday and they told me that they haven't sent the forms out yet because they're having technical difficulties with some of the forms. She said they hope to have the problems resolved soon though.

Has anyone from the Austin group tried calling Jill Jennings or anyone else from admissions?

It's incredibly annoying especially because we need to get our fafsa in asap. I've called and emailed each week starting a month ago and they've said the same exact thing, they're having technical difficulties with the emails. Does it really take a month to revert back to the old system which they already had in place? At this point it seems like they could drag this out another month or two, is there anything we can do as a group to speed up the process? Talking to the other San Marcos fall acceptances

Where are you interviewing and for what cohort? If you don’t mind answering?

One person above got rejected and another waitlisted, but I'm still waiting. this is ridiculous, shouldn't wait over 4 weeks for an email

I have been accepted to the Austin Campus for May. I have not yet accepted of denied because that's not even where I originally applied. Can someone tell me when the classes start in May and what they think about Austin? I have never been and may be accepting this blindly.

I have heard great things about Austin but nothing from the school. Can someone who went to the interview give me some insight please!

Well I mean if you were waitlisted you should have heard back by now and based off this thread we also know that people also received rejections emails already. So no news is good news, or at least thats my motto. If you haven't heard back it could be because they have yet to send out the acceptances.. Why they took this long .. ? I have no idea. ! But let me know either way, hopefully my theory is in your favor.

Hey, i interviewed for Fall start in Austin, TX. On the interview day, the students and faculty were all very sweet and professional. If you were looking at residential start, I believe that San Marcos is much more of a blended curriculum (more of their material is taught online) whereas Austin has a smaller portion of that style of teaching. Not 100% positive on that though. If you were accepted to Austin and given a login to your myUSA, there are resources on there that have information regarding what it’s like to live in Austin, COL, and more information on the school.

The school is located in a nice area about 15-20 minutes south/southwest of Austin. Very green and will be hot and humid for four good months out of the year! There was a student who previously posted on here that he was accepted for somewhere he didn’t originally apply to, but stated that it is probably because he is much less likely to get into where he applied and you were a good candidate to admit at least somewhere in their eyes.

Personally, I am very excited to attend this school and I hope this information helps you make a decision. Good luck!

I interviewed yesterday (4/13) for the DPT program at their San Marcos location!
I was there yesterday as well! How did your interview go? Did they say when they would let us know if we get accepted?

My interview went pretty smooth, thankfully! What about you? I believe for the Fall they said 2-3 weeks and for Summer this week!

Hey I am going to assume even though we are at different campuses its the same schedule. I was told yesterday via email that they would have everything out to us by May 15, the summer group starts May 10!
