Hi

Posting for a friend applying 2020-
AA male
NYC
3.60 cumulative gpa
3.50 science gpa
520 MCAT
STRONG research
STRONG leadership
GOOD letters of rec
OK clinical & nonclinical experience

Yearly Trend: 3.9 - 3.9 - 3.4 - 3.2

1. Would you recommend an additional semester to raise gpa to show at least a single semester of an upward trend? Do admissions counselors care as much as this website makes it seem?

2. What is an appropriate class list?

I personally would recommend a year of DIY postbacc only because of the downward trend, which is worrisome. However, stats are good and OP has a good chance at an acceptance, especially with the URM status. @Goro @LizzyM @gonnif Any thoughts? URM doctors are sorely needed, and OP'd be a rockstar if that 3.6 was flat, platinum if there was an upward trend.
