It said 90-150 spots on average
sounds like you'll almost definitely get an offer! I'm all the way in the 40s lolOOS alternate #6. Does anyone know the chances of getting admissions?

I don’t have much information about the school. I don’t recall it having any info sessions or tours. Do you think they will organize some zoom meetings so that we have a better idea about the school? I am placed as an alternate and was accepted at other schools but I still have some interest in UW-mad!
You definitely have a really really really great chance to get off the waitlist 😉OOS Alternate #18. I really hope I can get in. LOVE all the collaboration with local shelters!! Also, do anyone know how diverse the program is? I am kind of nervous though as I am a non-white female.
Last year they sent monthly updates to your updated rank on the waitlist!Does anyone know if they'll send updates on how much the waitlist has moved before April 15? 🙂
How funny! I am alternate #26! I am wondering the same thing!alternate #27 Do I have a good chance? Does anyone know if the alternate space is separate or together with IS and OOS?
hahaha Jenna said there are separate waitlists for OOS and IS and good luck! How funny! I am alternate #26! I am wondering the same thing!
Yes! You will be sent an online scholarship application to fill out for the SVM and they will match you with scholarships you are eligible for. You are, of course, welcome to find outside scholarships on your own 🙂 I don't know when this first starts happening but it'll be after the April 15th commit date. Are there any current students that know if UW SVM offers any scholarships? As an OOS student it sure is pricey.
I'm not a large animal person so I can't say for sure. but first year first semester was heavily sided with small animal stuff. Second semester of first year seems a lot more large animal sided. I'd recommend talking with an upperclassmen if you can! That said, Wisconsin isn't called the dairy state for no reason 😉Does anyone know about the large animal side of U Madison? I have not heard much about it. Obviously the SVM in general is amazing, but wondering if there's any specific highlights about the large animal side of the curriculum?
Last year I received monthly updates starting now of my waitlist position. It doesn't really move much until after the April 15th deadline when people who wait to decide either accept or decline. I received an offer as soon as I was next to receive an offer off the waitlist. Then you have like five days to accept or decline the offer.Hello! Does anyone have an idea of when we may hear any potential wait list offers? I know it kinda goes as space opens, but I'm so anxious about it. Will they start going through the waitlist after April 15, or is there a possibility we could hear earlier? Currently IS waitlisted
You are correct. Put down the deposit on the other school by the deadline if you've not been taken off the UW waitlist yet. When you get the UW waitlist pull and choose to accept your seat at UW, then you'll inform the other school and lose the deposit you put for that school. Sucks, but at least UW doesn't have a deposit? 🙂 At least they didn't in the past couple of years.I got an offer from one school and am on the waitlist (OOS, #26) for U Madison... I would still be interested in going to Madison but if its after April 15th then I do not know the normal protocol. From my understanding, the best thing to do would be to put in the deposit for the offer I have and if I get off the waitlist at U Madison after the April 15th then just lose the deposit I had and decide from there. Does anyone know any of info regarding this situation?
Ok, good to hear because it's kind of hard to find that information on any website! You are correct. Would you have to put down a deposit to stay on the waitlist if Wisconsin did have a deposit? I didn't know that; I always assumed the deposit was only when accepting an offer.Ok, good to hear because it's kind of hard to find that information on any website!
Hmm I definitely did not know U Madison didn't have a deposit (which of course may have changed)! But that would make it not be a total loss of money if that is the case. Thanks for that!
You don't have to put down a deposit unless you're accepting an offer. You can stay on the waitlist for free 😉Would you have to put down a deposit to stay on the waitlist if Wisconsin did have a deposit? I didn't know that; I always assumed the deposit was only when accepting an offer.
I have accepted my offer, and there is no deposit. They just require a signature.Would you have to put down a deposit to stay on the waitlist if Wisconsin did have a deposit? I didn't know that; I always assumed the deposit was only when accepting an offer.
I got the call the night of acceptance, no email telling me about it before though. They were really nice, just answered some questions I had about financials and other things.Did anyone get an email from a faculty member saying they would love to chat with you on phone and answer any questions you have?

You don't get free monthly preventions, but you get a 40% discount at the veterinary medical teaching hospital if you register your pet with them. I think you're only allowed to register like three pets for your entire time at vet school and you can't replace one registered pet for another if say you already registered three pets and decided to adopt a fourth one. There is also a popcorn emergency fund for students with pets who have unexpected animal medical expenses that can cover a lot of the bill.Do UW Madison vet students get any free monthly preventions for pets? And are there any pet feeding program with Hill's, Royal Cabin, or Purina?
