I think mine was about 1700 and the other was ~1300-1400. Just to put it into perspective, I was in the Army so I have quite a bit to say about resiliency and diversity...and they still didn't come up to much lol.

Totally makes sense. I've always been s fan of being succinct. It makes for a better passage than if I try to expand it and add more details

Did anyone get that email today on to make a portal account? It was super confusing since they backtracked it and said they didn't mean to send it out.

I went on the portal anyway and it said that my application wasn't found. I'll call them tomorrow and ask what the email was about!

I received that e-mail as well, but I didn't try logging in... now I'm worried mine will say "not found." .... yeah I checked, mine says the same thing.
Let us know what they say!?

I got the same email...and then an hour later another email saying to disregard the first one, but that I will receive an update to my application status by the end of the week! so scary.

What does that mean? I sent you a PM but don't know if it sent. Like status as in they got everything? Or interviews?

I was honestly so confused reading those emails.

I'm not super sure! It seems really early for responses about interviews, according to the website we don't find out until december. Maybe it's just that they got everything? either way, we'll know soon!
 
Got the same two emails. If it's like last year you won't here about interview offers until mid December for interviews in January.
 
I got the same two emails. I'm assuming the second one is referring that we will know whether our application materials are complete or not/ any prerequisites missing, etc by the end of the week. My friend got accepted last year and found out interviews mid December, interviewed mid January, and found out acceptances around Valentine's Day.
 
Called! The email will be letting us know if they got everything 🙂
 
Hoping invites come a bit earlier this year! The dean of admissions came to our school for a presentation/Q & A and said they were supposed to be out by mid November last year, but technical issues backed everything up.
 
Just got this confirmation email:

We want to thank you again for your application to the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine! We had a record number of application this year.

Thank you for submitting your VMCAS Application, VA-MD Supplemental Application and GRE scores by the deadlines. At this time your application is complete and is under review by our admissions committee.

We anticipate sending out information regarding interviews during the first part of December.

Yeah they definitely did not have any reason to include that- an extraneous comment for sure.
 
Do any of you know when they will start contacting OOS residents for interviews and when they normally take place?

On their website it says interview invitations will go out at the end of the first week of December and their interview dates at jan 14th and 15th

Yep, the application email I got a few weeks ago said, "We anticipate sending out information regarding interviews during the first part of December." I was looking through last year's thread and saw they didn't go out until December 19th. Hopefully sooner in the month rather than later!

Any idea if they tend to send all interview invites out at once or in waves?
 
It says on their website that interview invitations will go out the end of the first week of December. Not sure if this means the end of this week or the end of next week!

Hopefully they mean this week. Because I'm getting way too antsy about this!! Ack. Waiting.

I know adcomm has been working hard on the application pile, but last year it ended up a bit later than they wanted. Good thoughts on it, but don't hold your breath.
 
It won't come out this week since it says "the end of the first week of December". The first week of December is next week. Lol

Ehh. It depends. This feels the first week of Decemberish enough for me. It's a mixture of the last week of November/ the first week of December

Ain't it nice that we have hard dates to turn everything in to them, while they get to put vague deadlines that keep us guessing?

I'm just gonna assume they'll be late like they were last year and not get worked up about it. Unless it's Christmas Day and I haven't heard anything; then we might have an issue lol!

No. I'm expecting them after December 15th. As my vet friend told me - "Always expect VMCAS to f-up and delay things."

I have GREAT NEWS! I am a first year at VMCVM and Dr. Pelzer just told our class that she is planning on sending out invitations for interviews TODAY!!!!

She is still roaming around our class but she should be headed back soon to send them out. GOOD LUCK!

I've gotten 3 totally unrelated emails in the past few minutes and each time one rolls in, I jump. Fortunately I've got class in a few.
 
I was just looking at airports. The two I see in Virginia seem to be REALLY FAR from the school. What airport to people usually fly into to get there without needing to drive several hours?

there's a regional airport close by. The name is slipping my head, but I know American flies into tgere

Ohhhh... I was looking on Southwest. Perhaps they don't fly into that airport.

So, Roanoke is the closest mainstream airport (about a 45 minute drive). The other option would be Charlotte, NC, which is bigger and much farther away (multiple hours).

Dr. Pelzer said in class today that they had over 1600 applications for the next class. Good luck to everyone!
