I received it yesterday at 9:00am
Weird, I didn’t get anything! Thanks for the update🙂
I received it yesterday at 9:00am
My friend was #125 last year and was pulled a week before orientation started. So it appears they’re going deeper into the waitlist than last year!Does anyone know how far Iowa state went into their waitlist last year for OOS? I know my friend who was 75 was called off last year and they are at about 133 rn, but i just was curious how far back they go in terms of planning (I’m in the 160s 😕)
I just wanted to say, good luck and I hope you get pulled off! I've been following your story through some of your posts and I'm totally rooting for you!Does anyone know how far Iowa state went into their waitlist last year for OOS? Has anyone gotten any updates from Midwestern? Has anyone heard if they’ve had any movement on the waitlist especially due to the admissions team having to work remotely from home? It’s just radio silence over here 😕
I'm on the OOS waitlist for Oregon State and on the Idaho resident waitlist for WSU.
I got an email on Monday that OSU ranked the top 25 on the waitlist of 200 people, and if I didn't get an email earlier, I wasn't on that list of the top 25. That prompted me to send an email to Tess Collins about just getting an evaluation of my application, and she responded with:
"Thank you for reaching out. You are currently on our non-resident alternate list, so your application was highly recommended for admission by the reviewer. There were no major areas of concern and the reviewer noted that your grades are very good, you have extensive and diverse animal experiences, numerous extracurricular activities, and solid veterinary experiences especially in large animal. I am attaching a general tip sheet for improving your application and it includes the averages and ranges for our out of state offers this cycle. I would say the one area you could improve upon would be your science GPA. Taking additional science courses and excelling in them will boost that GPA and continue to prepare you for a DVM program. I see that you will be finishing up your MS degree in Animal Sciences this spring, so your planned coursework gives you a good opportunity to do just that."
Which confused me..... I have a 4.0 in my MS while working full time for my University as a research technician. My science GPA is a 3.43 with the inclusion of my undergraduate classes, with only one C my final semester of UG. I basically took her first statement to be "the people who reviewed your application highly recommended we offer you a seat, but we just didn't for no particular reason." Which is very frustrating...
Not from Midwestern that I can tell.Any movement on any waitlists lately?
May I ask why? Will be declining my OOS spot at CSU in the next few weeks (have been trying to get ahold of admissions for a couple days now), best of luck to whoever gets my spot!
I was pulled from the waitlist at Texas A&M. From a financial standpoint, TAMU’s $160,000 (4 year, California resident) tuition is much more manageable than CSU’s $332,000.May I ask why?
I was pulled from WSU’s waitlist a couple days ago! I was told I was the first alternate for my pool. Question: I’m still on the OOS waitlist for Oregon state, but I wasn’t high enough to be ranked (they ranked the top 25). Should I call and pull myself off, or am I not high enough on the list for it to matter much?

Congrats! Take that IS tuition and run with it.I am in the Idaho pool for WSU, therefore I get instate. As far as OSU, it’s so close to the start of school year that, now that I’m in at WSU, I would choose to attend WSU.

Ok ok so this is technically for c/o 2025 but can y’all tell me how you’re waitlist letter/email was phrased? Straight up “wait list” or “do not have a seat” or “alternate” etc? Vs a clear rejection like “you have not been selected for admission“ etc
Thank you so much for replying. So most schools are explicit about the wait list/alternate status, I’m guessing? Or is it true some might be more vague and say something about the number of seats?Mine said I was an alternate and that the list is unranked.
All of the ones I’ve seen have stated you are being placed on the alternate/wait list. It should be pretty explicit in my experience.Thank you so much for replying.
