Damn I’m OOS waitlisted and I still haven’t received any email about what tier I’m in 🙁
Which tier were you in if you don’t mind me asking?OOS waitlist but I just removed myself from the list! Good luck to everyone!
Top tierWhich tier were you in if you don’t mind me asking?
I think it’s ranked within each tier bc they specifically said you won’t get your ranking within your tier so somehow I think they have it set up that waythese tiers have me so confused. Is it like you're ranked separately within each tier or it's just going down a list from 1-100 (random number) and they just split some of the "100" into tiers/ groups to make it easier?
Do you think the tier numbers (1,2,3,4) influence who is chosen from first if there's an opening or just the rankings within the tiers (that we do not know)? and the tiers are meant to represent certain candidate pools and who denies a spot to open the waitlist influences the tier that it's opened to? I feel like I'm writing gibberish rnI think it’s ranked within each tier bc they specifically said you won’t get your ranking within your tier so somehow I think they have it set up that way
I’d 100% reach out bc it seems they’ve all been sent out! Probably just a mistake on their end if you received a waitlist email. Are you IS or OOS?If WSU has not already emailed me my tier should I reach out first? I don’t want to bother them and make myself seem impatient. But it seems as though others have already gotten this email and I haven’t? 😳
I think they pull from the top tier first then the second, third, fourth etc.. but I’m just speculating! I think if they pulled from them randomly they wouldn’t be numbered in sequential order but I have truly NO idea. I emailed for more info so I’ll post here if they give me any 🙂Do you think the tier numbers (1,2,3,4) influence who is chosen from first if there's an opening or just the rankings within the tiers (that we do not know)? and the tiers are meant to represent certain candidate pools and who denies a spot to open the waitlist influences the tier that it's opened to? paragraph 2 has me in the trenches. I'm tier 3 so I feel like it ain't looking too good for me scoobIdk why I have such bad luck w getting info from them but they said this - if anyone gets number specifics let us know 🙂View attachment 399341
I read through posts from the past few years and it seems like the OOS waitlist moves a lot. There was someone one year who said they were ranked number 75 or something crazy like that and they got off the OOS waitlistparagraph 2 has me in the trenches. I'm tier 3 so I feel like it ain't looking too good for me scoob
This extra info is helpful to know at least! Thanks @ 🐄's R 😎
Do you have a link to those posts by chance? I'd love to read through them.I read through posts from the past few years and it seems like the OOS waitlist moves a lot. There was someone one year who said they were ranked number 75 or something crazy like that and they got off the OOS waitlist
Interesting! I’ve seen other posts that like it’s only moved less than 10 spots. It’s so variable to the year😭😭 hoping for the best for us all💘I read through posts from the past few years and it seems like the OOS waitlist moves a lot. I will see if I can dig it up again.Do you have a link to those posts by chance? I'd love to read through them.
I think the OOS often moves a lot because students that were competitive enough to be admitted OOS were likely admitted at other schools as well. Many people also do not want to live in Pullman because they do not like small towns.Interesting! I’ve seen other posts that like it’s only moved less than 10 spots. As mixedanimals77 said, it's probably most people who interviewed, so looking at the OOS stats from last year (1115 applied,173 interviewed, 41 offers,15 admitted), I'd guess somewhere from 150-200 depending on how they wanted to approach a COVID admissions year. Regardless, I doubt the WSU waitlist moves as much as, say, the UW Madison waitlist that I am on (90-150 spot movement) given they have 15 OOS seats and the coveted in-state tuition after 1st year.Does anyone know how many on waitlost
They wouldn't tell me how many people were in each tier. Are you willing to share how many were in Tier 1?I got waitlisted on the in-state WSU waitlist and got an email saying I was top tier. I called them yesterday and they told me how many tiers there are and how many people are in the top tier with me. So if you do reach out, they will tell you! That said, they didn’t tell me where I ranked. I do think we are ranked in each tier since she said she can’t tell me my ranking (implying there are rankings) but she will tell me how many people are in my tier. It was less people than I was expecting, but still enough people where I question my chances haha
Fr though. Since they redid their admissions hub website, the previous stats pages are all gone to gauge off of. I'm going to reach out to ask more questions and figure out what the chances even are...then how I need to do a whole application revamp for next year....again💀paragraph 2 has me in the trenches. I'm tier 3 so I feel like it ain't looking too good for me scoob

Wow it is interesting to see that 1,115 applied a few years back but seems like this year that’s doubled at about every school!?I couldn't find it again. You'll have to search the threads. I was really deep down a rabbit hole after receiving my waitlist email.
I did find the following thread that had some interesting OOS stats.

Yes- many applicants from covid years started applying after gap years I think this increased the numbers significantly over the past 2-3 cyclesWow it is interesting to see that 1,115 applied a few years back but seems like this year that’s doubled at about every school!?
It’s gone up every year. The year before I first applied, there were around 20 applicants for 11 Idaho spots. It jumped to around 50 the next year.Wow it is interesting to see that 1,115 applied a few years back but seems like this year that’s doubled at about every school!?

Ahh same! Just checked my email (since I didn't receive a notification for it) and I'm also tier 3, OOS. We got this!paragraph 2 has me in the trenches. I'm tier 3 so I feel like it ain't looking too good for me scoob

You might be able to view the old website w/ the stats using the wayback machine? Their new site pales in comparison tbhFr though. I don't know how legit it is, but the wayback machine gets you into the statistics and it actually acts as a back door to see current stats for 2025. Like, a lot of stats. You might be able to view the old website w/ the stats using the wayback machine? Their new site pales in comparison tbh
I'm pretty sure they revamped the website after c/o 2025 was posted, so I think this is the last page that had the more in-depth stats (if the link works): Class StatisticsYou might be able to view the old website w/ the stats using the wayback machine? Their new site pales in comparison tbh
i am also 4th & i took it as i am cooked LMAOAm I cooked if I’m 4th tier 😭😭
They told me there are 9 people in the top tier with me! I’m really hoping I’m on the first half of that list. I think that’s the only way I’d have a chance. I doubt the in state waitlist will move too much, but I’m not sureWould you mind sharing how many people are in the top tier?

Are you in state?I only asked about tier 1 since that’s the tier I’m in. There are 9 people in that tier with me! Luckily when I called one of the nicer people answered, she’s always willing to help out and give information if you ask her!
Oh wow! I’m also in the top tier so I’d be curious to know where exactly in the list as well hahaThey told me there are 9 people in the top tier with me! yes, that’s for the in state, washington resident tier list! i’m sure the OOS tier lists have different numbers probablyAre you in state?
hopefully we get called off 💗 at least we still have a chance!!!!Oh wow! I’m also in the top tier so I’d be curious to know where exactly in the list as well haha
Thank you!! That is incredibly helpful. I have not heard of anyone in Washington beyond Tier 3, so I am curious if there are only 3 tiers, or if there are 4, which would make more sense with 10 people in each tier. They told me there are 9 people in the top tier with me! Yes my email response was the same they clear the tier above before pulling anyone from the next one.Thank you!! That is incredibly helpful. The way they worded their email to me made it sound like each tier has people with very similar scores and they will choose someone from that tier based on what their program and the profession needs. They said they will take everyone out of Tier 1 prior to looking at Tier 2.
I actually messed up, I’m in tier 1 OOS, I’m sorry!!!I wonder how many IS waitlisted people are in this forum 🤣
