WWizards of WWaverly Place - GAME THREAD!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
This keeps getting brought up over and over

It was a joke, guys. In two games I've played with Genny, last one included, she came onto the thread D1 saying ridiculously wolfy things in an entertaining way.
Joke or not, it kinda felt w/w to me and now it feels like you're trying to walk it back

Was there something I was supposed to find because I read back and all I got was more salt and confusion
Well, I can't see the thread through your eyes so I don't know. Was just hoping for additional perspective on the ongoing discussions. If you see nothing from the past though, you're still welcome to jump in now and start new discussions.

My point is, like if the person isnt on, it doesnt do much in terms of getting them to post. and that because the cycles are shorter there may not be overlap between peoples times online so while a pressure vote looks like there doing something, its not really doing anything because it probably wont lead to further interactions between the people pressure voting and being pressure voted, if that makes sense. tbh not sure if it makes sense in my head anymore lol.

Hi dont put words in my mouth thanks :biglove:I'm not saying shorty's one vote is going to kill samac. I'm saying that, like above, in a short cycle I'm not sure if pressure votes will do much, because people come on at different times there is less overlap in activity during day cycles and that it probably will just be an empty action.
Eh mostly makes sense. Although as wolf coming on to see a vote already placed on you before you've posted can give people a certain panic that can be informative.

Paws had a certain reactivity last game to pressure (not even in form of a vote) that I found very telling last game.

I think it’s low hanging fruit to try and yeet people for pressure voting, yes.

I’ve yet to play a game where people didn’t put a vote down to pressure someone early on.

You are making fair points about it being 12/12. Shorter cycle = less time to post/analyze posts. There’s still like 7 hours though.

Are you reading Shorty and Dubz equally wolfy for their votes on Samac and Genny?
This does feel like village Zenge. Not that I'm renown for accuracy in my feelings there.

It could also just be a panic of D1 voting annoyance

I mean they are more static than salt votes IMO. my concern is that all the people on now arent going to be on when the other half of the roster decides to show up. Maybe I'm just paranoid because I havent played a 12/12 since my first game, but a concern of mine is that pressure votes from now dont get removed after people show up, because the people who placed them arent on thread, and wolves capitalize on it and build a wagon on some random person. like sure pressure vote someone D2, D3, but its D1 and we started on a week day. I trust that everyone will show up when they can.
True enough but if wolves act opportunistically D1 on a villager misyeet that's still good data. Gotta turn the lemondade EDIT: lemons of dead villager bones and grind it into wolf killing lemonade. Which is gross lol

I get killed by wolves early because I often push at least one wolf D1 and end the day with my vote on one, not because I'm a top village read (have confirmed this with the packs after the fact). I've been questionable basically every time I'm villager.
This last sentence feels like a wolfy defense.

Yes, because that's the point of a pressure vote, but it's not like a pressure vote cannot be changed. You're making a big deal out of something that really isn't. I don't think you're wolfy for it, but this is the second game in a row (for me, because I didn't play FTF's game) where people have acted like pressure votes aren't a thing and tried to yeet me for it, and it's annoying. Just because it's something you don't care to do yourself doesn't mean it's not a way of playing that exists and that I've done plenty of times before. And honestly, I don't think I've ever placed a pressure vote and then stayed on it to yeet close - because generally the person I've placed it on shows up and posts enough content that I see reason to move elsewhere.

Ok, well, again, I have literally never missed a yeet close, so I don't think you have to worry about that.

If I had made up some reason to be voting samac instead of point blank saying that I'd RNGed the people who hadn't posted yet, would we even be having this conversation?
Her concern as she's stated isn't just that your pressure vote will be static. It's who else jumps on and then doesn't jump off.

It's not always just a blind D1 panic. I know Alissa was upset about D1 last game, which I'm sure you saw, but the suspicion was on her & Paws, and both turned out to be baddies.
Not saying it’s blind, but as we’ve also seen voting someone on day 1 can make them feel upset even when they’re innocent

well if you BSed it, I'd hope someone would call you on it idk what real reason there would be to vote someone who isnt on yet. but like yeah, if you were voting for someone else for an actual reason sure I wouldnt have an issue with it. And I get it, its D1 and there isnt much to go on yet, but like I said, I just dont see how pressure voting someone who we know wont be on is contributing anything to the thread.
Best point on the subject so far, especially the last sentence. Either mkg has seriously upped their wolf game, or this reads very village to me.

This last sentence feels like a wolfy defense.
Why? It's true. In Ggoats as a villager, I was on the board and often in 2nd place to be yeeted every single day for the entire game until I fought with AM enough that they voted me out instead of her.

I mean, true. No one wants to die on D1/N1. It's why I usually put a no-vote cycle into my games. But I think cray's point about being hyper-reactive to suspicion is a good one.

like unless its a joke/salt vote, yeah it would probably benefit the game most to stick to that. like if people arent on, they arent on. no conversation is going to stem from that vote unless theres someone like me that doesnt vibe with it. and with how different everyones schedules are, in a 12/12 cycle like what are the odds that a pressure vote becomes a real vote because like Samac doesnt come on until you're offline?
So instead we should hold our votes until everyone shows up? Or vote for people who have posted and not pinged us? I don't get it. People vote in the first few minutes of the thread opening when no one is here yet.

Really though, I don't see how cracking down on people who post so much useless stuff that you can't figure out their affiliation without seering is an issue to village.

How is that any different from what happens with any vote on the board in a short cycle? Like, the same can happen with joke and salt votes. Which are also moveable. Just like any vote.

I'm not scum reading you for it but I really feel like you're making this into a bigger deal than it is. Not being on thread at the same time does not mean you can't evaluate someone's posts when you come back.
