I'm not that sure about vetgirl, despite the weird similarity in items that were directed at me recently, but it doesn't look like I can change the vote with my dog # much no matter who I go for, even if I wanted to. So lynch vetgirl Although I have renewed interest in EC.

The thing to me is that she isn't really acting like an over the top noob like you did when you were a noob and a wolf. I feel like she's actually been contributing more than some regulars, tbh.

I agree, but no one else is standing out as especially suspicious. Has anyone investigated orca or abney lately?

Orca would be a good convert since abney came out on like day 2 and said there were no wolves in cohort 2 (orca's original group).
 
Day 9 Results

With some pretty ambivalent "eh, I dunno, what about the n00b" voting that seriously bored your mods and almost made them take up voting with about 50 dogs each.... y'all have opted to lynch Vetgirl4eva, for, as far as we can tell, no apparent reason.

So, you haul Vetgirl down to the river for what is becoming a tradition in the SDN Pre-Vet Iditarod WW Game: The winter 'ice plunge'. Except for the part where the plunger isn't allowed back out of the water. Vetgirl walks down to the river with a smirk on her face, feeling pretty darn good about the game she's played. Maybe someday y'all will know why she's smirking.

And, as this mod's parasitology grade reveals, sometimes blind luck does indeed triumph over skill. You have managed to deep six one of the remaining wolves.

Aug, sorry for my lack of activity, people. I keep being offline for reasons such as driving across the lake (three times so far and another tomorrow) and only checking in before the lynch starts and then after it ends. Go ahead and lynch me if you want, I know I'm not contributing much. It's a lot harder to try and figure out the game when items change every night and anything could be an item, and I'm having a hard time coming up with items that are both reasonable and creative. But if you lynch me, you will be losing a villager number. Your call.

Actually I feel like it's pretty cool and refreshing to not have to "figure out the game" but still be able to try to take part in it.
 
Night 9 Results

With numbers dwindling, it's unclear if our group of mushers is going to make it to the finish line in Nome.

Some of them (ok, one of them) appeared to be using shrooms overnight. Or some mind-altering substance. Amazing what people will do in the middle of a race.

Nyanko moved to Cohort 4.

And really, that's about all of the minor news. But there was a whole lot of major badness for villagers last night. And no, it's not your mods manipulating things to hasten the end of the race. You all did this to each other. 🙂

First, Equineconstant lost 2 more dogs to trail injuries. With a total of only 5 dogs left, EC has been scratched from the race. While no longer a contestant, EC - our outdoor equipment store owner from Anchorage - was simply scratched, not killed, and so retains the right to comment on strategy as much as she wants. She cannot vote and does not count in terms of how many villagers remain.

In other major news ... Orcagirl was driving her team beside a beautiful pristine lake…when all the sudden it began to bubble and fizz. Say what? Are these hot springs or something? She cautiously gets down from the sled and walks over as the lake continues to fizz softly. Suddenly, her dogs bark and alarm and take off running with the sled down the trail. "Wait!" she calls, but her voice is lost in a huge eruption of gas from the lake. A white cloud rises, moving faster than anything she has ever seen, engulfing her in pure carbon dioxide. Orca, a dog trainer hell bent on pushing back against anything Cesar Millan has done, is dead.

[Educational moment. This is a real phenomenon. It has to be, it's in wikipedia.]

And last, FFM was found beheaded next to his camp fire in the morning. Footprints around the area make it pretty clear he was assaulted by one person, presumably a very evil person. A blood splatter expert named Dextah was called in to investigate; he concluded that the killing was done with a SOG F09-N hand axe and required approximately 7.5 blows (the .5 blow was really more of a tearing/wrenching motion required to separate the last bits of tissue). He toddles off with his pictures to write up the report.

Well my ADHD caused me to not remember that there were no defensive items and I tried to set a trap around FFM before I left that cohort, but yeah no defensive items so ugh.

So I can't help but wonder whether all of these events that keep killing people are caused by one Mother Nature.

Yay, I'm dead but not. I was hoping you guys could at least lynch me since I already don't count for villagers, but I'm already strikethrough'd so I guess not. Sorry to let you down, villagers. Losing all my dogs due to attrition is probably the lamest way to go.
 
Sov told me, and he hadn't steered me wrong yet, that a converted wolf is in cohort 3. So ****Lynch hedgie***I'll be at work and kind of mia

You may submit your number any time, and night will close as soon after the lynch as I have all other PMs.

Nice endgame ploy, but I don't think it's going to work. Either you or your source is deeply flawed. Considering there are so few people left, it would be far too easy for a (converted, probably) wolf to
1) accuse a villager
2) say "Oh well, just lynch me next time if I am wrong!"
3) kill, during the night
4) vote off the remaining villager during the day because wolves have majority

I've done it myself before in the endgame.

So you say I'm killing villagers, yet we know there is a wolf in cohort 3, yet it's been made clear that I am NOT a wolf because I rather did something BENEFICIAL for the villager team. Therefore the wolf is hedgie. How the heck can you rationalize that?

Then that is absolute crap and nyanko has been converted.

If nyanko and hedgie are both wolves, they WIN if I am lynched. That's why it doesn't matter what they so outrageously claim, because they won't have to back it up.

This is classic, classic endgame strategy, people.

You are going to have to wait for LIS anyway... I am not sure what he has planned as far as lynch deadline/when he wants this closed as I have not spoken to him since I left last night. Sorry but impatient SOV will have to learn to be patient.
