Congrats! I tried to send you a PM; but they're currently disabled by your account: Are you going to the housing weekend? As a fellow Cali transplant, I'd love to talk to you a little more, maybe reminisce a little over In-N-Out and such. LoL
Anyway, I'm going even though I know where I'll be living (Phi Chi). I figured it's best to try to meet as many new fellow classmates in an attempt to scope out potential anatomy partners, you know?
Good luck to those of you still waiting. I was there last year and know all too well how awful it feels. Hang in there.

Any updates on waitlist movement? Haven't heard back. :/
Is there a change in grading that comes with the new curriculum? I understand their academic performance evals indicate they've had A-F grades (http://www.uthsc.edu/Medicine/medicaleducation/acad_perf/index.php) , but are they transitioning to P/F with the new curriculum?
Not yet. It's A-F still. We heard last fall that they want to go P/F, but that won't happen for a few years.

I got accepted to UT Memphis last week off the waitlist. I am having an unbelievably hard time choosing between UT and ETSU. Hope to make the decision today because I hate knowing that I'm delaying the acceptance of a waitlisted applicant.

Man I really hope I don't get in trouble for this; but I love helping, know how it feels to wait, and really want to support the UT spirit on SDN. I can give periodic updates as to how many acceptances have been rendered if you all are interested. As of today, it's at 246. Last year ended at 265. Let's hope it continues to grow, since in 2011 they rendered 186 and in 2010 a surprisingly small 175.

Hi all, I am applying this cycle and have a question if anyone is still reading this board. I'm an IS student, just got back my MCAT back today. VS and BS were good, PS was too low. I'm retaking 08/02. Does anyone know if UT will evaluate my application before the retake score or wait for the score or send secondaries before the retake? I really do not want to ruin my chances here before the retake.

Wait until your new scores are back if you're afraid you'd be rejected based on your old scores. I've seen several people receive rejections during the interim between a retake based on old scores.
If I were you, I'd keep an eye on the AMCAS verification thread and estimate how long it'd take to become verified. I'd submit the AMCAS to one of your backup schools so you'll be verified by the time your scores are returned. Then add more schools based on your score (if it's acceptable to you).

As of today it's standing at 248.
I don't foresee it moving significantly at this point; but you never know. I'll continue updating peri-weekly until the first day of orientation (if there are any changes). It's still possible that someone may change their mind at the last minute during NSO and result in offer being made to someone at a school whose orientation hasn't yet begun at that time. But those are pretty slim chances and a very rare occurrence.
Good luck to those waiting and to those lurking the now "old thread" for info relatable to the 2013-2014 cycle. I'll likely be very quiet as M1 begins and will probably be more active during the second semester to answer any questions once anatomy is over.
