I have withdrawn via email every time. I've always gotten emails back confirming I was withdrawn, but if you call you get immediate feedback that your withdraw was received.

Edit: looks like others answered basically the same thing as me, but I was too slow. I got a call in the middle of answering your question, so others answered before I finished it. Anyways, good luck where ever you go...oh, and are you withdrawing from Tucson or Phoenix?

Haha, I've lived in Tempe my entire life, and when I was younger I went fishing in Tempe town lake. I remember all of the fish being pretty darn small in there...if you go to Papago park there are some lakes with better sized fish, just don't fish in the lake right by the zoo. They don't like that as my friends and I found out years ago.
 
I remember when Tempe Towne Lake didn't exist! 🙂

And congrats to all you accepted to UofA. For those of you attending in Tucson, I will be right next door at the pharmacy school come Fall. I am super excited to start! Maybe we will run into each other 🙂

I know I speak for all of us on the boards when I say that we're still holding out for you, neutral dipolar molecule with both a positive and negative charge on adjacent atoms that happens to contain phosphorous!
 
Is it sad that I want this day to go faster just for the pure reason I want to know if the WL has moved? Ha ha

Haha! I love this! I know the chances are that I probably won't get off of the waitlist due to the number of OOS spots available and since the people who are holding the spots dont seem likely to let go of them, but I am remaining optimistic. I really want to go to PHX.

Erik you are a crazy good predictor! We hit 38 just like you said! I think if we can get maybe two more spots in this week then Erik stands a good chance of getting in next week and me hopefully the week after that! Then MadeIn in early June!

38? Wow, the waitlist is flying this week...too bad my damn professors aren't moving at the same pace for getting grades posted...
 
WOW! I'd say I was completely surprised, but the way the WL has been moving, I'm only somewhat surprised. 38 already!?!? Here's an updated plot. We're trending very high, and I expect the trendline to level out some time - but who knows when, hopefully not for another couple weeks! Let me know how I could improve the plots visually - it was getting very busy for the 2nd trendlines so I made previous years dotted. I'll probably do the same for the 1st trendlines as well. Any other ideas are welcome.

If historic precedence is accurate, and no more are pulled this week (which I doubt), the worst we could hit would be 63. I'll update the landing zone at the end of this week, but it looks like it will probably be in the mid to upper 50's by mid June (I'm expecting it to be similar to 2008).

Erik, how does it feel to be 8 spots away from officially becoming a MS1 and the UACOM? 😀 And MedHopeful, you're just 11 spots away!

I agree that the dotted lines really help to make it clear where our year is and where previous years are. Besides for that I can't think of anything else that could make it better.
 
Just wondering, are we required to buy a laptop from UA - Tucson? It's part of the CoA.

There are certain requirements they have for the computer, so if you have one that meets those requirements then you don't need to buy a new one. Also, you might be able to get by without one, but I would imagine that being a difficult task and honestly why would any one want to make med school any harder than it already will be?

I'm not sure how the May 15 cutoff works for me. I recently got a really good fin-aid package from one of my in-state schools, so between that and the already big difference in tuition, I will 90% be letting go of my spot. I would really love to see my UA fin-aid offer before I let it go. The admissions office indicated that this would be possible.

I don't think that's going to happen, based on what I've heard from the financial aid office, but maybe they make exceptions for people just recently pulled off the waitlist. Which would make me very angry as someone who's been accepted for months and has to make a withdrawal decision from other schools with zero financial information at all.

MedHopeful, sorry should have updated sooner, I'm definitely Tucson bound. UofA has been my goal for the past couple of years and now that I'm so close, I'm filled with excitement. 🙂

You would be understandably frustrated. This whole process can be frustrating when one is put in a position to make BIG decisions with partial information. I don't want to make $'s the only factor in choosing a school, but I think that if we as applicants are expected to release all acceptances but one by May 15, schools should also be expected to release financial aid awards to their accepted before this date. I believe this is called preaching to the choir. In any case, I am assuming UA will not give me an offer that will cover what looks to be about a 20k difference in cost of attendance, so if I don't hear in the next 2 weeks I'll have to let go of my UA dream.

Yeah, I'll call. I'll let you know what I find out. I'm not sure how fast the turn-around is from the time an applicant declines to the next spot being filled, but hopefully you're right 😀 I'll have a new plot at the end of the day. All this movement is great! I almost expect it to change from hour to hour!

Its certainly much better than a couple of weeks ago when we were moving at a snail's pace. All this movement is exciting, and it definitely beats waiting for final grades to get posted...

It's incredible to have all this Tucson movement with no one getting into Phoenix from SDN. It's starting to get depressing for us Phoenix waitlisters 🙁. Congrats to you Tucson folks, the wait is almost over.
 
You were right MedHopeful! We're at 41 😀 We're trending even higher, but I'm guessing that the pace may slow a little next week, and even more the following. Even if we level out like 2009 did, we'll still hit the upper 50's by mid June. With no movement tomorrow, historical precedence would put us at 68.

Midwestern. It's a great school, but they don't have a public health program, and they're a tad expensive. I've been eyeing UA's program for a while, and would really like to make it my home for the next 4 years! 🙂
