Called last week and told them (I interviewed back in Aug) they said "Oh no! We though our emails were getting to you guys!" and basically said if you haven't heard anything you are on a WL.

seems like those emails are still getting to us lol

Longtime lurker here 👀

I called today to ask about the waitlist and was also told that if you haven’t heard anything that you are on the waitlist. I asked if decisions were still only going to be sent out on Fridays, and she said no, so I think we could hear back any day.

Honestly, I think that anyone who interviewed and hasn’t been accepted yet is on the waitlist (this is my own assumption, NOT what she told me). I don’t think anyone who has interviewed has been rejected yet but correct me if I’m wrong. I interviewed in November, so it’s been a long wait, but I can’t imagine how frustrating this must be for you guys that interviewed in August and September lol.

Anyway, good luck y’all.

I just can't comprehend why they wouldn’t take five minutes to send out an official waitlist email if those decisions have already been made. It feels disrespectful to applicants who invested so much time, money, and energy into this process just to be completely ghosted.

According to last year’s thread, they did send out rejection emails at the end of April. I also saw one person say they did receive a waitlist email last year.

Also does anyone know if they are increasing their class size from 120 to 160 this year? I saw it mentioned in last year’s thread but it wasn’t clear if that was going to start this year.

Yeah, I agree. They should have notified those who scored low after their interview, and who they know won’t make it off the waitlist, that they are rejected. I don’t want to be rejected, but if it’s inevitable I’d rather know sooner rather than later.

I saw last year’s thread too, and the mass rejections that went out at the end of April. The person I talked to on the phone emphasized that they wanted to be sure they could fill their class, so I think once people trim down their options to three by tomorrow and to one by the end of this month, admissions will have a better idea of how full their class is. Then they’re more ‘comfortable’ rejecting people. Idk.

She also mentioned the class size is 120.

I agree with this. I find it a bit disconcerting that applicants who went through their interview process haven't had any follow-up communication for MONTHS. This seemingly copy-pasted response from the admissions office to an email I sent the other day did not even answer my questions. I understand that schools might not feel like they "owe" us anything, but after investing in the application, going through the interview day, and hearing nothing is really disappointing. I would so much rather know where I stand, whether that's a waitlist or rejection, than be floundering in this state of uncertainty lol

Totally feel you. It's dishartening esp when other schools are offering us their faculty's rental properties in town, but I can't even get a text back from deeznuts.

I totally feel you. I interviewed over 7 months ago and haven't heard a single thing. Just frustrating because it was my only interview so I would rather they tell me where I stand so I can know if I going to have to reapply.

IS A for MD/PhD! Got the call at nine am this morning, I interviewed back in October. Obviously can’t speak to MD only but I did have radio silence until now. It’s not over until it’s over. Wishing everyone the absolute best of luck, I hope everyone here gets more answers soon 🙂

Msar data from last cycle was released but I’m not sure how accurate this is. Apparently 35-50 are on the waitlist and 25 come off. I haven’t heard of any postII rejections…so how are there 50 of us waitlisted when realistically 300 haven’t heard back

According to last year's thread they sent out post interview rejections April 26, which was a Friday, so if they were following last year's trend they should've sent out rejections yesterday.... What's the hold up?

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe people are taking longer to decide which one acceptance they want to hold, so most of the class isn’t confirmed yet and admissions isn’t ready to send out rejections. Honestly who knows at this point. Every prediction I’ve had about when I’ll hear back has been proven wrong lol.

All I know is I’m going to be stressed all of next week.
