I feel like it is not marketed enough, but if you are looking for schools that give a lot of both merit based and need based aid definitely apply here. Almost everyone got at least a 25k scholarship, with most students getting significantly more. Your tuition also includes UWorld and essentially all other third party resources. You are given a guaranteed 2k stipend for aways/research travel, a all expenses paid 4 week rotation (rental car, apartment, flight etc) at one of the other two hospitals you are not attending full time, a 3k moving stipend for FL students (for the move to FL), an all expenses paid week in FL before clinicals for the FL students, and much more! So once you are at here there are not many extenuating expenses.

I just received an OOS II with a LM 70, so definitely worth it if you can make a strong case for the Arizona track.

I just received an OOS II with a LM 70, so definitely worth it if you can make a strong case for the Arizona track.

Thanks for this advice. Im nontrad ~70 and was putting this off but I feel like I have a really compelling AZ case so I got it on paper and finally submitted the other day after reading your post. Hope its not too late =)

I got nothing. I just asked a similar question on the MN thread, to see if anyone knows what ratio of Rs to Holds there may be. Not sure we'll get a clear answer, but just from these threads it seems there were a whole lot more Rs than Holds

out of curiosity does anyone know if mayo - arizona is viewed as highly as mayo - minnesota during residency matching? I get the name is the same but wondering more if this campus stulm holds the same weight (through match lists etc) as other t10 institutions?

They are probably comparable. It is Mayo Clinic. Go look up match lists between what schools interest you and let us know?

The only difference so far that might be of note depending on your specialty interest is that AZ doesn't have a psych, peds, or FM
Residency.

I think that's a good thing. No competing with residents and working 1:1 with attending
