Just a note on revist weekends ... and this applies to all schools. You should go to meet current students and to learn more about the school, NOT to meet future classmates. You never know who out of the group will be attending. Yes, it may give you some idea, but I think it's better to look at the current students.

In terms of waitlist, some years it's formed around May 2-5, other years it formed more around May 15th.

The waitlist moves! Especially with so much money being offered by Pritkzer now, I think they've started accepting many fewer people right out. That's just my speculation though.
 
The new USNWR rankings leaked. If it's right, Chicago held tight at 13. So baller! (If you're into that stuff at all...*cough*...). lol jk. It's cool though that USNWR recognizes what we already know--how awesome this place is! 😀

Do you guys think they'll make calls this week? Seems pretty late in the game at this point...But still :xf::xf::xf:

I always get excited when I see that there's a new post on this thread. ESPECIALLY if it's on a Thursday 🙂

P.S.-do we even know what day calls actually go out? I remember hearing Thursday and I've sort of latched on to the idea but I have no real evidence that it's special. Anyone know anything different?

I've been visualizing that call for months now. WHEN 🙂xf🙂 I get it, it will be a crazy crazy moment! (positive thinking!!)

I have no idea what days calls go out. I just know that I want one, lol
 
i thought continued candidates don't hear back until around may 15th, when pritzker sends out waitlist and rejection notices via snail mail. 😕

Makes sense. I'm kind of past hoping for a pre-WL acceptance at this point. The good news is that compared to how long I've been waiting, May 15th doesn't seem that far away 🙂
 
In other news...I wonder how many times a day I check this thread for updates. This can't be healthy...

Do you guys know if we will be able to do our 3rd and 4th year training in the new hospital they are building?
 
New Hospital is set to open early 2013. And better yet! The hospital is ahead of schedule. Class of 2014 will be the first class to do 3rd and 4th year in the new hospital! It's going to be gorgeous and huge!!

No they aren't going to build it .... they already HAVE built it. Many Pritzker student's are currently working in the new research building ... it's beautiful and goregeous as well .... 10 stories .... panoramic views of Lake Mich, donwtown Chi, the midway.

And they just announced ... that they are re-doing the med school lecture rooms ... the rooms that are ONLY 10 YEARS OLD (the building, BSLC, is still relatively new), but they decided they want to have the latest and bestest classrooms for Pritzker students.

Haha thanks for the encouragement PritzkerGuy! Funny, but I now fluctuate wildly between intense anticipation of May 15th (and beyond) and crippling fear--that happens about a few times each hour. Can't take much more!!

I have no doubt that the weekend was phenomenal. To those who made it, I'm sure you earned it. Congrats!! 👍
 
But seriously...we CAN'T be the only people this diehard about Pritzker. Where is everyone?? 😕
 
i definately loved u of c, but that love began to dwindle about two months after i got my continued status. Right now i have sent 3 well written, thoughtfull LOIntents (each took about half as long as my original PS). Man, this process is rough....

Definitely makes sense. It's hard to feel anything but...unheard/in the dark. The process really calls for blind faith and it's tough. If only there was a crystal ball that would say if all the months of this will be worth it in the end!--that would definitely decrease the agony a bit 🙂

I'm at a point where I feel completely vulnerable/helpless. I'm having trouble conceiving of anything else I can do that might help my cause (I have a hard time resigning myself to the reality that I actually have no power over my fate at all--at least not at this point--even though it's probably true).

This whole thing is massive because it will literally change the course of my life. The place I will go if I don't get into Pritzker is essentially it's polar opposite. Don't get me wrong, it's an AMAZING place, but I know that deep down, I will likely be a different doctor/my life trajectory will be drastically different (on the long term) if I go there. I just know it.

I think this is so heavy for me, bc on some levels, Pritzker represents not only a med school, but a path really. I find calm sometimes bc I'm no longer in a position to choose my path, but instead to let it chose me.

LOL. This is way too deep for a Monday morning...And not to mention kind of Star Wars-y. Sorry guys! Ignore my inconsequential introspection :laugh:

I work at Knapp :laugh: There is actually talk of a twin research building across the street from the NHP being built now.

Thanks mdeast! I have two main purposes behind posting in this thread: to reduce my neuroticism and to entertain. I'm glad I have accomplished one of those :laugh:
 
Bbender and adreamer, I'm hoping we all get some great news over the next month(s) from this place!🙂 I'm at the point where I may have to develop a really creative way of expressing how much I would love to attend Pritzker. Just not sure how to make use of my time besides watching this thread 😀

I actually asked Sylvia Robertson if the adcoms would appreciate it if I brought some med-themed desserts to help them make their decisions. She mentioned desserts would be great, but update letters are good for now.:laugh:
