This is strange. I think one of these two schools must be getting ready for some serious movement in their waitlist.

I think this lack of recent movement really shows how linked further acceptances are to how much the UAB wait list moves as it seems that many already accepted are probably waitlisted at UAB or somewhere else and there won't be movement until they get in at UAB or somewhere else!!

I really think that we have yet to see the majority of South's waitlist movement.

I'm a current student, and the last rumor I heard from the brass was that there are around ~50 students currently in the USA class.

That wasn't from anyone in admissions, but it was from someone who would know what they are talking about. So...take that for what it's worth, and good luck with everything.

That doesn't make much sense since there are approx. 74 slots - they wouldn't just leave them empty and not pull from the wait list- could you please explain??

Nobody really got in off the waitlist until a couple weeks into June.

It would just mean that 50 people have said yes to USA. That would mean there are at least 24 people that have been offered a spot but have not said yes or no, so we are waiting for them. Does that sound correct?

Isn't it true thatt people selected off the wait list only have 2 weeks to make a decision to accept or not? If it is true, and I think I read that somewhere, then there should be more movement in less than 2 weeks because surely many of those 24 will decide not to go to South otherwise they would have made a decision already.
 
To make sure we understand, about 50 people are reasonably certain they're going to south,so don't count on them giving up their seats. The other 25 or so are the only chances at seats that we have, and even some of them will probably stay at south. So we're looking at <25 more people being pulled from the waitlist?

That's terrible news if it's true. This is compared to previous years where Mr. Scott said that they went through the entire alternate list in terms of acceptance.

I was looking at the facebook page for USA, and noticed some new people had joined. I know for a fact that 1 of the people that joined was waitlisted, so that makes a total of 4 people that we know of, even though I'm sure a lot of the people joining these days are on the waitlist.

P.S. wouldn't be great if someone here joined the fb group and sent a message to these new people joining asking if they were taken off the waitlist? Haha, or one a friend's account so it wouldn't be awkward if that person was eventually accepted

I was waitlisted last year at USA but never accepted.

Nope. I was the next person on the list, called on orientation and found out that everyone showed up 🙁
