Congrats!!! I’ll be a SW student as well! I’ve met a bunch of NW students but haven’t found one for Albany yet
Thanks! I'm so glad to hear someone else is going to the SW campus too I was starting to worry that one was the unpopular choice lol

Heard nothing but great things about the rotations and the faculty. See ya in a few months!

Gauging my chances of getting off the waitlist. Is the GroupMe practically full?

It’s tough to say bc we don’t really know how many people in the GroupMe are truly committed and going to MCG this year.

My best guess: (given the info we had about 14-16 people being student reps). The current GroupMe count is at 317, meaning just about 300 spots are taken as of now (very rough estimate assuming everyone in the GroupMe is planning to enroll here). It appears MCG has probably had a higher % yield than expected this year and that’s exactly what I was fearing when an accepted friend of mine told me there was a WL to get a Augusta campus spot earlier last month. I also think this makes sense bc maybe the EAP offers were given to some students who were ranked “towards the top”, but not projected to get off the WL based on current % yield.

Idk, I’m really just taking an educated guess and this could be wrong for sure. I’d say continue to just pray and hope, but mentally be ready for both outcomes. Also, like others have said, it’s still pretty early so maybe movement is just slow. Just gotta keep waiting in agony.

I've been refreshing my email less and less each day - it's slightly agonizing to not check but then I say "it be what it be after 5pm". WL-ed after interviewing in the first round back in August for EDP 🥹

I received an A on 5/1. Can someone send me the groupme?

Does anyone have information on how the campus in Athens is? Is it more of a disadvantage if you're trying to do competitive specialties? I haven't been able to find a lot of info on the vibe of the school

WL > A within the last week and assigned to Augusta campus. Super stoked.

Here is the link with more information, it’s called the Harrison Scholarship
I know I'm replying to an old post but I was recently bumped up from a half-tuition to a full-tuition scholarship. Apparently the website is outdated and according to the pamphlet I was provided, MCG now provides 30 full-tuition and 24 half-tuition scholarships in case anyone is wondering. I imagine more students will be offered scholarships as more applicants decline them to matriculate elsewhere.

Got the A this morning at 10:20! Wishing the best of luck to you all!! Interviewed in December

No campus assignment yet- for anyone else who got off the WL, how long did it take to hear about campus?
congratulations!! it took around two days for me!

Anyone hear anything after Monday this week?
I haven’t seen anyone talking about getting an A to MCG on the internet after Monday either. It could be there were more people accepted who simply aren’t active in the online pre-med space, so they haven’t posted about it yet. Another guess is that MCG’s committee only meets on a specific day of the week and releases emails in batches. I am curious how much time people who get the A from the WL have to decide if they want to PTE at MCG.

In their Acceptance & Withdrawal Protocols, it says students accepted off the waitlist before June 1st have 5 business days to CTE, but after June 1st, they only have 2 days. This info had 2022 dates on them but I imagine it’s the same this cycle.

Can any accepted applicant please confirm?

Does anyone know if the PGY-1 residency jumpstart pathway will still be available for students in the regional clinical campus pathway? Or do you have to do your rotations in Augusta?

I found some information about the Georgia PGY-1 Pathway on MCG's website. Here's the link for those who might be curious: Tailor-made medical Education

Basically, you get two options, with one being scholarship-supported versus no scholarship. If you're going for the second option, then you'll have to do your clerkship and residency at MCG's Northwest or Southwest Regional Clinical Campuses. It doesn't seem like this is available in Augusta at all. IIRC, your campus assignment during the pre-clerkship years does not mean you have to do rotations there as well. In other words, you can be assigned to Augusta as a M1, apply for the Georgia PGY-1 Pathway after matriculation, and (if accepted) you'll complete the remainder of your medical education at either the Northwest (Athens) or Southwest (Savannah) campuses. Honestly, I couldn't find much about the scholarship-supported option, so I encourage others to chime in if they know more.

If I remember correctly, all of the pathways are available to you as a regional pathway student (research, advanced specialty prep, and PGY-1 early start). All of the core rotations are done up in the NW or SW, depending on where you committed to going. The audition/sub-I's you'd do could be done elsewhere I think. Not super sure about the early residency option and whether you're geographically locked in the NW/SW.

Yes it will be. They haven’t made arrangements for it for regional students but I met with one of 3+pgy1 faculty and am a regional student. The details still need to be hashed out how we will be doing our rotations in Augusta but it will be possible. There will likely be some back and forth from Albany/Rome to Augusta unless you are doing the specific FM IM pathways at those locations.

Once you’re accepted off the WL, you have 2-5 days (depending whether you were accepted before or after June 1st) to confirm your seat in the MCG class of ‘29. If you accept your seat, you have until July 7th to make your decision whether to attend or not, because this date (July 7th) is MCG’s CTE deadline.

Argh, it's been 9 days since anyone posted about As from the WL. The radio silence on WL movement is driving me bonkers! I wonder if/when it'll pick up again. 😢

IS A yesterday at 2:44 pm. Do you just submit the forms to hold your seat? How long does it take for CYMS to update?

When I looked back at previous threads, it seems as though the majority of reported W—> As happen within the first few days of WL movement. Then after that, there is one more mini wave of reports that happens either the 3rd or 4th week of May. We are entering the 4th week now, so I suspect that if there is another little wave, it would occur in the next few days or so. (Could be starting now 🤞🏾) But after June 1st, no (reported) waves happen and acceptances really do become a case-by-case thing. On average, only about 1-2 reports occur for all of June-July (with the caveat being that there is likely less SDN activity once the cycle officially winds down in the summer months)

It seems that our best chances of getting off the WL was the 1st week unfortunately, but the chances still aren’t 0%. Hopefully we hear good news soon 🙂

Congrats, and thanks for the update! Would you be comfy sharing your stats, or even just the range of your GPA and MCAT? I have an idea that MCG ranks applicants on the WL mainly by stats because past threads show people with lower MCAT scores typically get pulled very late (there are definitely exceptions). I’m wondering if the EAP email could also indicate this.

As for the CYMS, it’s probably just a delay and should be updated within the next day or so. I know there can be lags with communication between schools and AMCAS sometimes.

Sure! 3.6 cgpa, 3.4 sgpa, 512 mcat. URM if thats still a thing. I put Savannah as my top preference, not sure if that moved the needle.

Hi! Does anyone know anything about the J. Harold Harrison scholarship? Thanks!

Can someone please post what the CTE deadline is for this school? Tried reading prior posts but didn't see.

Did they just reach out through email or was there an extra application for the scholarship? They don't seem to offer much information

July 7th. Someone posted it on page 14.
I read on the MSAR application timeline that the commit to enroll deadline is June 30. But either way, how does the whole “you could hear back all the way until late July” come into play if the CME is much earlier?

No extra app, the scholarship is just offered. To applicants with “extraordinary academic achievements or leadership”

Has anyone on the waitlist called admissions just to see if they would tell you anything

Did regional pathway folks have to interview with the SW or NW campus deans for the 2024-2025 application cycle or is that something new for the 2025-2026 cycle?

I applied SW for 2024-2025 cycle and had to interview with the SW Campus Dean. It was only 10 minutes and super laid back. He said that he had not seen my file and did not know anything about me. He mainly just talked about the SW campus and let me ask questions. Easiest part of the whole interview day.

I interviewed with the SW associate dean cause the dean wasn’t available. Super chill interview and real fast. You do it after the MMI and basically they just put you into a breakout room when the other applicants are having their meeting with the students at campuses other than Augusta because regional students are Augusta campus only for the first two years

I spoke with them today, and they mentioned that there should be some more movement soon since the Commit to Enroll deadline is coming up. I also found out that we can't submit a new application to MCG until the current one is officially closed.

Praying desperately for a miracle atp.
