Congratulations future doc! Since your AMCAS CYMS tool has already been updated, I'm curious if it shows your A status in the MCG Applicant Portal too.

Felt this so much. It’s a rainy day where I live and the power’s been out, so I’m j doing the classic “stares out of the window on a gloomy day” thing rn.

I’m just surprised the WL movement this year is a lot slower than last years. Maybe we’re just unlucky 🙁

This year is the second year of the early assurance offers. I didn't see anyone mention being offered this and then getting off the WL last year, but maybe they j didn't report it? I confirmed with admissions though that this offer doesn't affect your WL status/ranking, whether you accept it or not.

My anxiety is veryyyy high rn, so I think ima take this weekend to really relax and try not to worry too much about the WL movement. It's pure agony.

The suspense of WL season is pure hell on my nerves too, but I agree with everyone saying it’s too early to panic about low WL movement. Last year, MCG didn’t release any decisions on the first Friday (May 3rd) after the PTE deadline, and the radio silence continued into the following week for several days. Waves of people still got accepted in May and even a couple stragglers in early June.

The Wednesday timing for the PTE deadline this year was not in our favor. Since MCG’s acceptances off the WL historically begin on May 1st (I couldn’t really find recent evidence of MCG’s WL movement starting on April 30), their committee has only had 1-2 days to meet before the weekend, and their Friday operating hours could also be limited like a lot of offices nowadays. My point is, we don’t really know what the man behind the curtain is doing or not doing. It feels like an eternity for us because our future is at stake, but May only started yesterday. It ain’t over til it’s over y’all

I’ll be calling them to find out what would happen to my WL spot if I take the offer. From what I gathered from the email. They basically give you a guaranteed acceptance for next year's class if you fulfill a set of requirements and get your master's. High risk - high reward situation for sure.

The master's program is great I was in it this year!
