I got a letter in the mail for my acceptance and it took 4 business days for me to get the letter. Good luck!

Thank you! Really!:clap: That is so wonderful to hear. I wasn't really sure because I am waiting on the letter. Were you accepted as well?
 
I'm just being neurotic bc I got the CBC email about 10 days ago but are we POSITIVE that is means an acceptance. Don't waitlisted people also get CBC emails?

I know! I am neurotic as well!😱 I got my CBC about 10 days ago as well, but I hope it is a good sign. Keep me updated LaDoctora14. GOOD LUCK!

From last year's thread, no one who was waitlisted ever got CBC emails. I don't think schools get CBCs on waitlisted applicants until later in the cycle like in May.

I interviewed last week so I won't find out until either the 14th or 21st of this month.
A background check however is a 99.9% confirmation that you were accepted unless there are some legal issues or background issues to give the school pause. Welcome to medical school! 😀

Thanks for the info 🙂 I can't bring myself to celebrate until I have se tangible evidence though. Sighhhhhhhh
 
I am on hold and I am being considered for the postbac. program can anyone let me know what that is? I did not even know Meharry had a post.-bac. program. If anyone can give me more info. about it I would greatly appreciate it!!!! Thanks:laugh:

It's a one year prep program sponsored by the school of medicine to which you take graduate courses to better prepare you for medical school. Its actually not a bad program because your guaranteed a seat in next years class pending you complete the program with passing marks. Its also ALOOOOT cheaper than most if not all other/outside post-bac programs.

Yea I definitely know how you feel! Its coming though! LOL its like the party is set to go, you just waiting on that champagne bottle cork to pop off! :laugh: (probably the only one laughing)

there will be champagne popped when this letter comes though!!! i'm almost certain i will be attending meharry if i get in. not many other schools (esp hbcu's) are showing me love 🙁

Thanks, I will definitely keep you posted! I have a feeling this is going to be the school I (WE) will proudly call home. It just felt right during the interview day with meeting the students, fellow interviewees, and faculty along with learning the amazing story & history.

I know!😉 Everyone is sooo friendly there and make you feel like family. It is definitely my number one choice!
 
Does anyone know Mr. mosleys email address or who we need to send an LOI email to? I interviewed on Jan 24th and although Mr. Mosley said that we should hear something in 3wks and technically it has only been 2wks, I have yet to receive anything and I just want to send an email to let them know how serious I am about wanting to attend Meharry. Trying to remain calm and prayerful....

I interviewed the 24th too... Which one were you? My interesting fact was that I can't cook... Not even easy Mac.

Hi! I am the one that said I had the opportunity during my sophomore year in college to teach anatomy from cadavers in the anatomy concerted lab

My understanding is that it is a one year program to prepare you for entrance into their medical school. Like if you successfully complete it, you're automatically guaranteed a spot in the next year's class. At least that's what I got from the overview during my interview day. So it's a very good opportunity. :luck:

Wow. We may know each other!😉 I graduated from UAB as well. I am still waiting on my response since I sent in my CBC even though several people has said that if you recieve a CBC you are more than likely accepted. Have you heard anything yet? I hope we meet each other at Meharry!

yeah we might😀. I interviewed on Jan 24th and unfortunately I have not yet received a cbc request. Mr. Mosley said within 3wks and it has been a lil over 2wks now....sigh...I sent in a LOI to the Dean, Mr. Mosley, and Ms. Davis just to make sure they know I WANT TO GO TO MEHARRY!!! lol. I am trusting the Lord, the SOLID ROCK on which I stand and praying for the best. Congrats on your cbc request, it sounds like good news is coming your way soon😉

Well first of all, CONGRATULATIONS!👍 But Really? That is interesting. I figured that they would want to know a background check on everyone considering you are about to be a doctor and care for others. But, I think AMCAS only does one background check to deliver to all the schools you applied to. Did you interview for any other schools?

Did you receive an acknowledgment about their receipt of the deposit you mailed in? If so, then you are all set to go. But in any event, If I were you, I'd get with with admissions staff about this - just to make sure u r not falling through the cracks...

I did a CBC for one other school but I just thought that each school would request it individually. Maybe not... I call tomorrow to be on the safe side tho. Thanks alot!! 😉
 
BTW guys... What do you think about Howard (HUCM) vs. Meharry (MMC) vs. Morehouse (MSM). Which would you choose if they were your only three choiceS?
