Rejected. Boo.

Even though, I hadn't thought about Vandy in a while except for expecting my rejection letter in the email... I had a premonition I would get that letter today, and low and behold, the rejection letter came today...

vandy don't know what they are missing... I'm psychic baby~! ok now, where's the rejection party? I'm bringing my friend Meister Jager along.

In all seriousness, good luck to y'all in the running though :xf:... and wherever y'all eventually end up.... remember to become great doctors.

Let's hear it for CLASS OF 2015.

I got the rejection letter today in the mail too. Good luck to everyone still hanging in there!

Knew it was coming, but now it's official, rejected, 39Q/3.95/awesome person. Don't know what they're missin. Really liked VBilt, too.

Damn dude, I could understand why they rejected me, but WHOA... in retrospect, what do you think you was missing on your apps?

Where are you guys located? I'm suspecting the letter will take another day or 2 to reach NY.....

Just got rejection letter in the mail 🙁

UCLA undergrad, 3.63 cGPA, 3.70 sGPA, 39Q

So far I am 3/6

Invited to interview: U Mich, Pitt, UCI

Rejected: Pritzker, Boston U, Vandy

Third rejection in a row...not feeling so good anymore :/ Still waiting on about 18 more schools though so hopefully it turns around.

Rejected 🙁

Well at least I don't have to write my autobiography until after I win the Nobel prize!

I got my rejection yesterday too! For some reason, knowing other people are in the same boat as me calms me a lot!

Rejected today via snail mail. In 7/21 complete group. Good luck to the rest of you!

Top schools are almost always unpredictable in who they choose to interview. That's what happens when they get 3,000-5,000 quality applicants and only have ~1000 interview slots. Also it depends on the school but like he said going to certain undergrads can automatically disqualify you, even if you are 45/4.0.

BTW I just got rejected from Vandy. First rejection.

What are some examples of undergraduate schools that would certainly get you rejected?

On the recommended list of housing, there is one called the House of Orange, that is $75+tax/nt, which includes continental breakfast and the cab fare from the house to campus. The address is 1010 Lawrence Ave (not listed on the website). I talked to the owner, but the catch is that the house has to reach maximum occupancy of 4-5 student interviewers to get that rate.
Anyone interested? Thanks!

Anyone interested for the nights of 9/19 (Sunday) and 9/20 (Monday)? Thanks!

hey guys,

i scheduled my interview for oct. 13, even though there were a bunch of openings in september. i picked oct.13 because it's during my fall break and i don't want to miss class. do you think that date is a bit late for the interview? should i reschedule for sooner? until what month does vandy conduct interviews?

thanks!

I really don't think it matters all that much.

Rejected today, got the letter in the mail. Joining the party. Also rejected from Boston U today, its been a pretty rough day.

There's always tomorrow.

Good luck to y'all that got interviews. I love this school.

Has anyone else from the 7/21 group still not heard back from Vandy? Today marks six weeks, and most people seem to have received an invite or a rejection...

I was marked complete on 7/21 and still have not heard anything from Vandy. Hoping for the best, but it seems pretty late now

im from the 7/21 group ... i got my rejection letter in the mail today 🙁
it was a long shot for me anyway, but good luck to everyone else!!

I'm in the 7/21 group and haven't heard anything. I'm having difficulty restraining myself from asking them whether a decision was sent out and might have gotten lost in the mail.

I'm also from the 7/21 group but haven't heard anything either (Canadian applicant).

I interviewed here last year but maybe they aren't so kind the second-time around..

I received the rejection today and was in the 7/21 group. The letter was sent to another place within Tennessee so I probably received it pretty early. Good luck though, I hope they are still sending invites for that group

still waiting to hear back... do they send an email or is it just snail mail? Canada is so far it will never get here =( i needz teh closure.

I (and some others) got an interview invite by both email and snail mail, but it sounds like people are getting rejections by snail mail only? They did say they would only be communicating via snail mail, and I haven't received any other email communication since the invite. Anyway, best of luck! :luck:

Interview invite by mail 8/30! Woo! I'm excited because this is definitely my top choice. Now to do this secondary...

Also in 7/21 and have not heard back :xf:. However, today I realized that AMCAS failed to save my preferred address when I moved back to college. This means I will likely be hearing my Vandy fate from my parents. Mom hasn't seen anything back home either.

If I had to guess, I think I'm in a "hmmm, maybe" pile.

Rejected a few days ago 🙁
I loved the idea of Nashville.
Oh well, move on, I have other options

Secondary/Interview today! 3.94s/3.97total/36Q, oos. Second interview invitation (can I count this as an invitation?) this week. Feeling kinda good.

Does anyone know if there is a limit to the # of rec letters that we can send? I know it lists three, but does anyone know if we can send more? If so, what is the recommended limit - like 5 or 6?

Thanks in advance! Good luck to everyone!

I just looked at the MSRA and realized Vanderbilt will not accept any AP credits...

Does this include English? If so I am screwed...

If it makes you feel better, I sent 5 because all of mine are in a letter "packet". I have to send everything to everyone, but I don't see it being a problem.

Rejected yesterday (confirmation 7/21). I emailed the adcom and had my letter emailed to me as a .pdf attachment.

After interviewing here last year and being waitlisted, this is disappointing. I suppose no love the second time around.

English will be sooooo easy for you to do last minute! You could even do it at a CC online. At least at the schools I've gone to, you can't even tell that the class is online via the transcript. They have lit classes online at a lot of schools.

At least its not math🙂

Yeah, a packet would make it easier for me - However, I'm sending individual letters. So, I don't know if they would look unfavorably if I send more than what they requested especially since I have more control over my letters than individuals with the "packet" letters, in which you have to send all anyways. Thanks for the response though - it DOES make me feel better ;D

I suppose this is possible, and I do love Vandy. I just don't really want to be taking English the summer before med school haha. I guess I'll just leave it blank on the secondary?

Got invite in the mail last week, interview on September 30th with a doctor whose name is on a building. Not going to get nervous yet, got three more interviews to get through before that. . !
