I was just at their secondary websites, and for 2008 class they received about 5600 and gave about 2000 secondaries. It was in the FAQ section.
 
Interview invite today! I don't like that they assign you a date, though...

Is that when they scheduled you, or did you have to reschedule your original date? If you did have to reschedule, did they give you any problems? 😀

That was my original date.. I'm not sure how easy or hard it might be to reschedule.. sorry! 🙂

they assign a date????? That's going to be very troublesome, considering I am living on the east coast at the moment... Still.... if I'm lucky enough to get an intervew at UCSD I won't complain.
 
I was verified early Aug...around 8/2ish... but still no word from UCSD. I'm an in state applicant...and feel like I have received a silent rejection. How long should I expect to wait before I find the rejection email in my mailbox?

I feel like this, too. My MCAT scores were posted on 8/16, and I heard from every other UC within 48 hours. So I feel like I'm not going to get a secondary here 🙄 oh well, just wanted to let you know we're in this together :laugh:
 
I was verified 8/15, received the "Initial/We've received your AMCAS" email 8/30, received secondary this afternoon. For those of you still waiting, don't fret. They are probably backlogged or something. :luck:
 
got a secondary yesterday! (verified 8/26)

Super excited about this one. wasn't expecting to get one because of my stats:

3.41 cGPA 3.32 sGPA (upward trend)
30Q (8V 10P 12B)

So far the only other UC i got a secondary from is Davis. This is like my dream school and its only an hour from home. It must be because I am an URM (hispanic) because otherwise I don't see how I got a secondary seeing that they only give a third of applicants secondary. Anyways fingers crossed :xf:

yes, they assign a specific day, but you might be able to have it changed if you call them. On the form they give you, it gives you two options 1) I accept this day 2) I don't accept this day and I choose to withdraw.

I was lucky enough that out of 29 busy days in september, I got the 1 non-busy day scheduled out of pure luck.
 
anyone having issues checking status on the SSI page? when I try to log in, it says my user/password is incorrect or that I don't exist as a user... but info is definitely in correctly.

Hey anyone know how much extra time we get for the secondary because the website was down? I received a secondary 8/3 and didn't get to it because it's my last one and I HATE the prompt. I probably did 20+ drafts of my PS which I think was awesome, and I do not want to have to basically re-write it for this...

I found my essay to be quite different from my PS. This is an autobiography, after all.

I was sitting in the library when I happened to notice a new message in my Gmail window. "Interview invite" - from UCSD!! High fives and muffled squeals ensued right then and there. 😀

NVM FOUND IT...I really need to stop doing things like this. Sorry for bumping the thread up and causing false alarm and stuff..
