Just called Admissions and they said that it was fine. whewww, so lucky.
 
received an interview invite today! so excited!
 
my secondary was complete july 3, but my letters of rec weren't in until september

how do you know that they received your letters? I dont see a place for it on the application check website..

Does anyone know if UCSD is open to letters of interest. I live in San Diego and would love to stay here for med school.
 
thanks!! I'm really excited about traveling to the west coast!

and i didn't know whether or not san diego had received my letters. i just knew they were submitted to AMCAS on sept. 1, and by the end of september, they had been received by the other schools I applied to.

probably after interviewing at sd - they don't like intent letters pre-interview - makes sense b/c i'm pretty sure everyone (including me) would send one if that was possible lol 😀
 
Does anyone know anything about the SD interviews? Any new changes or anything?
 
Complete 7/13 and I haven't heard a single thing since... anybody else in the same position? UCSD is one of my top picks 🙁

I am in this same boat...still holding out hope for a late interview though!
 
I interview on Thursday! Can anyone comment as to the actual interviews?

1. What kind of questions did they ask?

2. Were either of the interviewers current MS-IVs like other schools do?

3. Describe the atmosphere during the interview...

Any feedback would be really appreciated! As an SD native I would love to continue to be able to go watch my Bolts play between studies 😀
 
I have been complete for two months. Call me crazy but what draws my attention the most to this school is (A) it's like a med school right in the south of Rio de Janeiro, (B) some of the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu schools are in SD.

I am OOS and have been complete since the end of August. If this school sent me an II I would pretty my (pre-med) life would be complete :laugh:
 
ACCEPTED!!!! I LOVE UC SAN DIEGO!!! They are extremely fast in terms of letting you know where you stand post interview!

Congrats! Look at the interview feedback for the "type" questions they ask. I had 2 faculty members, and both of them were very conversational, and even enjoyable! I really liked UCSD, its a very well-rounded institution.
 
Does anyone know about student hosts? The II email did not have any info about it and I'll be there next Thursday.

They send you an email exactly one week before your interview, so hopefully you received one today.

So I called to check on my application status and they told me I was on hold for interview, but didn't have much more information about my chances of receiving an interview/how many people are put on hold, etc.

Does anyone have any idea of the chances of being interviewed from the hold list???? Really hoping to get an interview here!!!!!!!!!
 
still no secondary...wow...cali schools are insane...why didnt i live in texas
 
Just interviewed at SF and Stanford, neither of them were significantly better than SD, I might be in love with this school!
 
Anyone else in a La Jolla hotel room right now freaking out about tomorrow's interview? :scared:

Stats: Not sure when I was complete, but I paid the secondary application fee on Sept 3 and received the interview invite on Oct 14. IS. Less than average GPA but high MCAT score.
 
Just got accepted via email earlier today! As the director of admissions promised, fast results! Good luck everyone! :luck:
 
Okay so the pressure's off today - just got off the phone with admissions - Dr. Kelly is out of the office so status updates will only go out later tomorrow or on Thursday. 😀

Because thats what he told us at the interview. :laugh: He also said that most people would hear by the second week... that would be today for me but nothing yet. Probably about to give them a call as well.
 
I'm late in the game, Just received an interview invite for January 19th, complete October 9th
 
Does anyone know if the admissions office will let you store your suitcase there on the day of the interview?
 
Seriously, this was my first interview and I'm hoping to hear back todaaaaay.... or by next Tuesday. *sigh* And to think I got all happy when Brian told us we wouldn't have to wait long. (Then again, we really can't complain... I hear some schools make you wait months!)

July 2...the hold for interview wasn't updated on my status page though, that is just what they told me when I called.

I am really hoping to come off the hold list but I think it might be over at this point 🙁
 
According to Brian, acceptance notifications should be sent out tomorrow early in the morning ~ 9AM...again for the millionth time...come on lucky 7's!!! :luck::laugh::luck::laugh::luck::laugh::luck:
 
Does anyone think Brian/Admissions is receptive of emails inquiring about application status? Complete since 08/22 and the silence is killing me. My top OOS choice.
