Alright how long before I should become worried about not receiving my complete email? How long did it take for you to become complete from the date sent?
 
you guys really dont think i have a legit shot at howard even with the 24 mcat after getting a 26? when u say ill be fine

Apply if you feel you fit their mission. You'll never know unless you apply.

Remember med school looks at the entire application. There are thousands of apps. It's hard to say whether or not that we have a shot. I hope we get in and its fine, but its like the entire app is looked at for an applicant. Good luck.
 
Hi, I had a quick question and I apologize if it has already been asked and answered but does anyone know whether Howard accepts AP credit to fulfill part of the 2 semester math requirement? My undergrad was on the quarter system and I only had to take two quarters of math since my AP credit "covered" the other quarter. I've already called and emailed the school and no one has gotten back to me yet, so thanks in advance if anyone knows 🙂
 
How long does it take for them to acknowledge they received my secondary application? They received it last Monday according to my delivery confirmation. I think SDN is beginning to take it's toll on me. I am becoming one of those neurotic pre-meds, LOL, which is not good considering my personality type.

I think if you consult their website you may find the answer to your question. Look for it first and then call if you are still uncertain.
 
They received mine last week as well. I haven't heard anything yet.

It takes time, but you will be getting that email confirmation soon! 🙂
 
Do you think they will email the interview invitations this week, next week, or when? I hope we get those interviews.

Howard is slacking! Been a week, no ii's, no notifications on even receiving the secondary apps, nothing. Very quiet! I claim racism because I am white! 😀

They received my secondary app 9/21. They just sent the email that my app is complete and that II will be issued "between October until mid-March" and that "Final (reject) letters are not emailed until the END of the admissions cycle starting March 15 and continuing until June". HTH. Good luck everyone!!!
 
Hey all,

I received a secondary invite on 9/7 even though my AMCAS was not verified until 9/19. I received notification that the secondary was received on 9/14. I'm not sure if I was meant to get that secondary...

Also, claiming to be caucasian. Received the Application Complete e-mail today. Let's go Howard!!

Well they made it the same e-mail for me. They did mention that if LORs weren't submitted then they need to be in order to be considered complete. I sent in my LORs when they e-mailed me my secondary.


This is a quote from the email:

"SECONDARY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT – FILE IS COMPLETE IF AMCAS HAS RECEIVED YOUR LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION."

That equals complete for me, so it was really an e-mail to show they received my secondary and fee.

Great to hear many of you getting that email today! October begins next week and it's that month where interviews will also began at Howard!

Hopefully we will get those interviews! 🙂😍
 
well that's weird. I got the secondary received email on 9/14 but it said nothing about being complete if they had my LORs. I haven't received a complete email either. I wonder if they're not sending those out to people if they have already told you they got your secondary? Is everybody else getting two emails?
 
They didn't officially send me a complete email. The e-mail is to show that they received my secondary. Like I showed in the quote, if you turned in your LORs then you can assume you are complete.

Has anyone actually received a complete e-mail?
 
Same boat, I got a received secondary email but nothing else, I got that email on sept 14
 
Same here, got the secondary notification email on Sept. 14. Basically that is like a complete email. Also, if all the Letters of Recs is received and verified by AMCAS from your application, then you are a complete applicant and your file moves on to get reviewed.

I'm really excited to apply to Howard, it's my top choice! Finished my secondary and sent it in earlier this week and I'm waiting to get the complete email. I'm hoping and praying that we all get interview invites!
 
Thanks. That's been cleared up. I'm complete--YEAH! Also, Gang, I was e-mailed an interview invite from UTMB-Galveston. So Thank God some schools look at the entire application rather than just numbers. Good luck!

Congrats aspiringdoc09! If there's one thing I know for sure so far in this cycle, its that schools care about everything and stats are not everything both for high stat applicants and low stat ones... Take heed future applicants!

My interview is for the Nov. 16th at UTMB. I still have to confirm it today.

I was worried and I still am. I still plan to take a prep course just in case (Plan B). I think SDN makes everything seem dire and extreme. I'm praying for more interviews, so I have been returning secondaries within 1 week or less.

Overall, I have a strong application, except the MCAT score. Apparently, they saw something that they like. Come on Howard it's your turn to take a chance. LOL.

Yeah. I don't try to compare myself, but I feel I should be able to do better on standardized tests. It's more personal for me than..."Oh that SDNer got a 30+ with 2 weeks studying". I didn't do well on my ACT either, but had a high GPA. I need to figure out why that is, so I can be more successful. Find a weakness and crush it! Lol.
