For those who have been accepted, when did you guys interview?

Sometime in mid-August.

Does anyone know if all Texas schools send them out at midnight tonight or just UTMB and UTSW?

cGPA 3.84 sGPA 3.77 MCAT 27...so there is hope for those on the lower end of that spectrum, at least at UTMB!

I was under the impression that Texas Tech also sent something out at midnight (although my memory is fuzzy).

UTH, A&M, and UTHSCA sent their prematches out in the morning / afternoon last year.

Accepted 12:00am!!!! So thrilled!!! 😍🙂😍🙂

I prematched on Nov. 15 at Texas Tech last year -- they waited until the morning / afternoon. The only schools I recall who sent out acceptances at 12:01 were UTSW and UTMB.

Any idea about TCOM / El Paso?

If we didn't get an email at 12:00, our chance is gone for today, right? 🙁

This was my second year applying, was definitely worth the wait! Don't give up too fast, and my friend got accepted June 30th two years ago... 🙂🙂🙂

congrats! we interviewed the same day and have similar stats...wonder if we ran into each other.

Accepted! IS, 3.9/34Q; Interviewed early August

So if you interviewed in early August and UTMB doesnt accept you by the 15th that means, they intend to make you wait until the match, right?

Looking at MD Apps, most of the people who interviewed in August at UTMB but did not get a prematch on the 15th, never got a prematch at all, they either matched in, got waitlisted, or matched to a higher ranked school. FML.🙁

I told myself if I got into this school I would stop interviewing, but now I will start knocking on my OOS schools.

Don't lose hope. Many of us who pre-matched will withdraw. There is plenty of seats available right now.
Take it easy.

^^^ lol you seem like a nice person and therefore will withdraw, if you have prematched to your top choice, but other people wont be so nice

Those seats will still open up during match, regardless, because you can only go into the match with one prematch offer. You have to release all other offers beforehand.

^^^ i realize that lol, my original post was pointing to the fact that if we don prematch we will have to continue interviewing until we get into 1 school,
Interviewing into feb is pretty brutal but i guess beggars like me cant e choosers

Accepted today at 12:03 am. Seriously thought y'all were tricking me into believing they accept you at midnight haha. It really happened! I love the little powerpoint, even though the song didn't work on my computer.

29/3.8 non-traditional student with healthcare work experience and I interviewed the first interview day.

Thanks for the love UTMB!!!

Yes, this is the unfortunate truth. But a late acceptance remains better than no acceptance at all. Of course that doesn't solve the waiting issue. I totally hear you there.

Good luck.

Does that mean that there will be no more pre-match offers coming around? :scared:

No. I think more offers weil be made during pre match as students withdraw.

Ummm, false??? You can keep all your prematch offers if you like. Its after you get matched when you lose others that you ranked lower. Can someone please tell me if I am wrong?

You're correct, you can keep as many prematch offers as you want until match day. Some schools require a deposit though ($100?).

Really? This is what it said in the TMDSAS traffic rules document that A&M sent along with my acceptance today:

"If you have received more than one pre-match offer from TMDSAS schools, you must choose one school and release all other pre-match offers by January 21. This is done on the TMDSAS website.

Once you have decided the pre-match offer you will retain OR if you have only received one pre-match offer and it is your first choice school in the TMDSAS match, you must rank this preference by January 21 on the TMDSAS website."

So that's not correct then?

Yeah, I saw this too. I'm really confused because I've been told otherwise on my interview days. Although I think it makes sense to give up your other offers going into match since you will already know which school will be your first choice.

I think RandomHero is correct.

Here's my understanding based on the TMDSAS site - the URL is below.

http://www.utsystem.edu/tmdsas/medical/acceptance_Match_info.html#PreMatchOffers

Pre-match goes from 11/15 to 1/21. During that time period, you can hold multiple offers.

You have to submit your match preferences by 5pm on 1/21. The regular match is on 2/1. At that time, you'll end up with your highest ranked preference.

You can hold offers from a TMDSAS and non-TMDSAS school (e.g. Baylor) until May 15th. With that said, since there are a lot of people trying to get an acceptance, you should drop any school you know you won't attend as quickly as possible.

Hope that helps. Good luck to all.

Totally agree with that. It would be very selfish to do otherwise. If I hadn't pre-matched, I would be grateful to see applicant making their choices sooner rather than later.
I am giving myself a week or so, just waiting for the official letter from my top choice, then I will withdraw. I don't see the point of holding multiple offers if I know where I will be going.
By the way, out of the 3 offers I got, only my top choice shows up in TMDSAS. So I can't even withdraw now from the 2 others even if I wanted to. This is just to tell the folks who are waiting to pre-match and match that I, and I am sure many others, are quite aware of the ordeal you are going through, and that we certainly do not want to make it worse.
Hang in there folks, your turn will come.

You can hold multiple offers going into the match, but as soon as you submit your match rankings you sort of automatically release all your prematches except for your highest ranked one.

But I think prematch season ends at the end of December, so even if you give up a prematch before you submit your match rankings but after January 1st (or whatever the date is), it won't go to someone else until the match.

You are sure about that? So you are saying that if I withdraw now from any school, my seat isn't used to pre-match someone else, and will remain "vacant" until match date?

He's saying, if you withdraw after the last day that prematches can go out, your seat won't be offered to anyone.
If you withdraw now, your seat should be offered to someone else.

OK, well now you know why I got 9 in verbal on the MCAT...😛
I am 99.9% sure I am going to UTSW (baring any act of god). So once I get the official document (the letter as per TMDSAS), and once the withdraw option shows in my TMDSAS, I will very likely withdraw sooner than later.

Redoitall - Kudos, that is very considerate of you.

Once you have the final paperwork from UTSW and you're comfortable with your decision, I don't think you have to wait for TMDSAS. I think all you need to do is respond back to the school and let them know that you are rejecting their offer. At that point, I think a pre-match offer would go out to the next student in line.

Congrats to all those accepted, and to those who are still waiting, there should be a lot more pre-match offers coming in the next few weeks, so don't lose hope.

Has anyone got in that thought there interview was horrible. If so why do you think it went bad

I interviewed at 3 schools. At Lubbock, my interviews went very well and I was sure I would get in. However, the two other schools, at least one interview (at each school) was destabilizing and I would have sworn that I would be waitlisted if not rejected.
I pre-matched at all 3.

Interviewed here on the 16th. Really loved everything about this school. I hope people withdraw so they send more prematches out. I think they do send out more prematches is what I got from the presentation today, but only as people give up their spots.

@bonitaMD2017

Hmm I don't know but I'm sure if we did we will know soon enough!

I interviewed on the 16th too! I LOVE this school and rank it ahead of my state school. I am an OOSer, so I spoke with Dr. Silva before I left yesterday and she said they only accept about 23, so I may not hear anything until orientation for the new class. I am praying I get in here because my interviews went very well! I interviewed with Drs. Chao and Rabek. At least I have somewhere to go next year, but I wouldn't mind coming here.

It felt like UTMB is the BEST FIT for me and my career goals thus far! Keeping my fingers crossed!

I feel the same way, UTMB was awesome. The students there seemed so laid back and chill. I think it'd be a great environment to study medicine. Definitely jumped up a few spots...one of my top choices! Best of luck to you, I talked to quite a few out of state MS1's so its definitely possible, plus they love diversity! Don't worry about it, and stay positive!

Thanks for the encouragement. I thought about asking people at the NBS and interview if they had your SDN tag. I wish you well and hope you are able to prematch there.
