does yale differentiate between IS and OOS?
So, if I was complete the end of August, does that mean silent rejection?
I sure hope not. I was complete at the end of July.
no way - congrats! that's awesome! did you check the box for disadvantaged applicant on AMCAS by any chance?
does Yale email reject pre-interview? or silent reject

Does anyone know of any buses that go between New Haven and Boston? I'm hoping for a cheaper option than Amtrak. I know about Megabus, but from what I can tell, they only make one trip per day between New Haven and Boston, and that will work for me going to New Haven the night before my interview, but not leaving the next day.
why is there such a big difference for the time frame between application complete and interview invite for different applicants?

Yeah, Greyhound has a lot of options, and the station is close to Yale. I'm also going from New Haven to Boston. Seems like 8pm bus with a connection is the only option though (for the day I chose, anyway).
I have a favor to ask of someone who has interviewed/is interviewing soon....for the travel survey they sent, can you check to see if you get taken to the survey page if you click the link after already having filled it out? Or does it say something along the lines of "you have already submitted a response"?
I think i filled this out, but i got the email about 6 weeks ago so I'm not positive I did.
Thanks in advance!!
Thanks, Tots! Also, got excited for a sec that I might see you at Yale but saw that you are going to Mt. Sinai/Cornell first...i'm interviewing at Yale this week so doesn't seem likely you'd be there?
If anyone is going to New Haven from New York, take the metro north (like others mentioned) amtrack f'ing blows.
I'm not coming from New York, but I'm curious--why the hate on Amtrak? I've taken Amtrak a fair amount, and I don't think it's quite worth the money, but it definitely isn't bad.
Amtrak has a nasty habit of never running on time. Also, the new MetroNorth trains are really nice (and clean!) the old ones are kinda horrible though...
Replying because my situation might be of interest to some applicants - I received an interview invitation earlier today, and my application became complete ~6 days ago.
Sure. 3.8/3.9/38. My ECs are pretty standard (lots of volunteering, clinical/bench research, TAing) - I think my research recs were probably what got me the interview.wow and congrats. care to share some details as to your stats/ECs?

Haha, I'm usually someone who sees the glass as half full, but Amtrak in my experience is a mess. Every time I've taken the Amtrak it:
A.) Has been a bit too expensive (compared to driving).
B.) Runs consistently 2-3 hours late.
C.) Takes forever to get to the destination (once it took nearly 8 hours to get from NC to DC, a trip that normally takes half the time by car or bus), and this was on top of a 3 hour delay. There were even frequent stops for "smoke breaks" hahaha.
But maybe that's just in the Southeast...I'm jealous of those fancy-shmancy "bullet" trains you guys have up north. 🙂
are they still sending interview invites? I know I probably don't have shot here but was wondering if I should accept defeat now? I was complete 9/17
A rigorous core scientific and clinical curriculum (the science)
A comprehensive clinical skill-building program (the art)
Opportunities to engage in complex clinical reasoning (medical decision-making)
I saw this on their website, which claims that all 3 are interrelated. Can someone explain this to me please? 😀 Thanks in advance.
I was marked complete a week after you. Nothing here =/
I was marked complete 7/27. Also nothing.
So, I JUST NOW received a link to Yale's secondary. I was complete a long time ago. Is there any point to submitting my application just days before the deadline? I know Yale isn't rolling, but still.
