rejected just now, completed mid-september. good luck to anyone still in the running!
Same boat. I am actually in this situation with a few schools that have already been rejecting. I was complete everywhere before September. GL!Thanks for sharing.
PS- any one else complete months ago with not a peep since?
Same here!! Except I added 2 extra schools later, so those were complete mid-Sept. Best of luck to you as well!Same boat. I am actually in this situation with a few schools that have already been rejecting. I was complete everywhere before September. GL!
I was just thinking that. Oh boy!A little over two weeks until January 15th!

I hope you guys stay excited. In retrospect getting an acceptance here ranks as one of the best things that has ever happened to me. The institution will support and nurture you as you develop into an amazing doctor, not to mention that they really spoil the crap out of us.
As a 4th year interviewing all over the country I can say that the Einstein name is well regarded throughout the country from the west to the east (UCSF/Stanford to Brigham/MGH). Come here and the sky is the limit. Good luck!
Feel free to PM if any questions about the school. (i'm not so up to date on the pre-clerkship curriculum, if you have questions about that you should ask one of the second or first years on here)
Thanks for offering to answer questions! I was reading a post from a few years ago from a student who was unhappy with how their 4th year was at AECOM. They mentioned it was really hard to get time off for interviews. Does this still hold true? Has this been your experience?
I am in the worst possible situation so i can speak to this really well. The caveat is 90%-95% of my classmates are in a better position then I am in terms of setting up interviews, either A. they needed to take less interviews or B. they had really easy rotations during the interview months (its all done on a lottery system).
I am interviewing at 24 places because i am applying to an advanced spot so i need prelim interviews as well (advanced = radiology, derm, anesthesia, rad onc blah blah blah). If you don't get it, don't worry, by the time youre applying you'll figure it out =), needless to say i need to schedule all of my interviews and i have the worst possible mandatory rotations during the interview months (medicine sub-i). I am allowed 6 days off total which isn't much. BUT i have been so fortunate to have the Einstein administration be very responsive and work with me to fit in all of my interviews.
Basically i had to fill up the month of Dec. as much as possible, since everyone gets a full month off for interviews (i interviewed on christmas eve and am interviewing tomorrow yay!...) and i showed the head of the clerkship, what interviews i needed to still take and what dates i had set up during my rotation. They were super accommodating even though it pushed me over the limit, i'll be honest that i did make up some of those days by working on the weekends but by the time you're in fourth year working weekends is no big deal AND hours on the weekend are always shorter then if you worked a weekday so it was sort of a win win.
In short, no matter what you decide to apply into, you'll have the time off for interviews. Administration at einstein is VERY responsive if you take the initiative to reach out to them. It takes a little bit of planning (ie let them know once you schedule your interviews, don't wait for like the week before you have to leave) but it almost always works out. Best thing is, after these two months of medicine you are basically home free for the rest of 4th year. 4th year at Einstein is the best year of your life, once you get here take ADVANTAGE of it - make a bucket list and start checking things off .
From what I gather from other applicants on the interview trail, it is pretty specific to Einstein, but other schools do have some sort of "time off" for interviews. Thanks so much for the detailed response! Is having December off for interviews common or something specific to Einstein?

So cool! Now I need to find a way to calm down for the next two weeks hah
I know I should not be complaining, but I was one of the first groups to get interview here (Oct.). And now it's been 3 months with no email or anything from the office. All my friends have gotten acceptances from other places and I'm still waiting on Einstein. I'm so nervous I keep checking this website and my email every 30 mins. I wish they would tell us soon.

So did I. When I interviewed in October I was told I would hear mid-November to early December. Clearly that's not the case cause no word over here! But I applied as MD/PhD. So on their website they said "end of December" for earliest acceptance. Not sure if they follow the MD-only deadline now.
Rejected today. Was complete on 10/4. Best of luck to everyone else!![]()
Complete 7/24 and pin-drop silence.
Aaand I jinxed myself.... Rejected today. Complete 10/14.
Complete 7/24 and pin-drop silence.
+2. 7/17 for me
Next Wednesday (1/15) seems like eternity..
Where are you coming from? Will you be driving?I got an Interview Invite for March there this morning! Really excited 🙂
I'm sorry to everyone who got rejections, and good luck to all of you that are still waiting for decisions.
Does anyone have any advice on travel, the interview, etc.?

--Is it just me or did the deadline on their MD website just changed to Feb. 1?

I find it odd that they'd tell us a specific date and then change it without informing the applicants. They will get flooded with calls by confused people if that's the case.that's frikkin bs man. Jan 15th is late enough
MSAR doesHmm... do we know for sure that that one page ever said January 15th?
Is the 2014 msar out? And that's for this cycle right!MSAR does
I don't think they mail acceptances. I looked at last year's Einstein thread and people got acceptance emails on the morning of 1/15. I hope the same happens for us on Wednesday.
