Interviewed in feb and still no word. Anyone else still waiting to hear back? Kinda interesting that they are pulling off CAP before notifying people that haven't heard back...

Feb interview too. and yep, still waiting... 🙁:nailbiting:

finally got thewaitlist about a week ago. i dont know if its been discussed already so I am sorry if it was, but can anyone (maybe current student or someone who knows) chime in on how much waitlist movement there typically is?

Make sure to send the letter to Mrs. Sullivan 🙂

From reading other posts, it seems that about once a month (usually toward the middle) Dr. O'Donnell goes through the letters and replaces the students that have withdrawn their acceptance. The closer to May 15 , the more movement there is. One post says that the committee reviews the interviewed students in batches of 80 and that there is a 20-40-20 ratio of accepted - wait listed - rejected. Knowing that they interview 10% of the 10K applicants, you can do the math to figure out how many people are on the wait list. Subtract out the people that get accepted elsewhere or don't write a letter back. My adviser told me that a third to half of the applicants come from the wait list. This is all info I have read or heard so I a cannot guarantee its validity.

At the second look event they mentioned that they had 13k+ applications this year if I remember correctly

So I have the 2015 USNews numbers (a little old compared to MSAR's data but still, at least it's some data right?)
Interviewed: 1119
Accepted: 345
Matriculated 197
Assuming 20% outright acceptance = ~224
Assuming 40% waitlisted = ~448
Accepted - outright acceptance =121= pulled from the waitlist

So 121/345 = ~35% of acceptances come from the wait list. Also, 121/448 = 27% pulled from wait list but we know that not everyone will stay on the wait list or will write a letter to Dean O'Donnell so your chances of being pulled from the wait list is ~30% or higher. Hope this helps!

Just keep positive! If anyone has called the admissions office recently and asked about when the next expected movement is, that would be fantastic!

For those CAP'd, does it show for you each individual school(s) transcript status on the application page? thanks!

It also says that I have transcripts missing from both my universities and I am CAP'd too. It also says that I am missing supporting documents.

i called and asked about this and they said that its for those who have been accepted, if you are caped then you dont have to worry about it until you get accepted, the only thing you need to do is send in the letter

First year med at GUSOM - this is a great school. love it. anyone got q's I can provide answers

Do you think there wasn't any movement from the CAP this month or just that that those that moved are not on SDN?

SDN is a small sample size so there may have been movement but I would guess that the movement hasn't been significant yet or we would have seen a few postings.

Just my thoughts though.

I came off the wait list this month and will be attending. There are probably others on SDN that didn't want to post in this thread to gloat about their acceptance, but it sounds like most of the movement is closer to the May 15 date.

Good luck!
When were you taken off ? Date wise

Any recent financial aid news?

Edit: Nevermind! It's up on myaccess!

I checked my online application today (I'm in the CAP), and noticed that the section that says transcriptions changed from just the words "Not Received" to a list of all my individual school names with "Not Received" by each one. I was wondering if anyone else that's been CAPed is experiencing this change as well.

Yeah same here. Wonder what it means.

I'm assuming it's in preparation for you to submit transcripts, in the event you are accepted, as AMCAS received your originals. Schools require students to send ANOTHER official transcript to them directly before you matriculate, since they never get the ones you sent to AMCAS. I'm sure with our pending acceptances, we'll get more info on when and where to submit (speaking our acceptances into existence lol)

Hey guys, I'm on the CAP and my online app started listing the schools individually too. Because I'm a neurotic I started looking through GUSOM threads from past years to see if this was a prelude to an acceptance, but I haven't found anything yet. Staying hopeful though 😀

I was on cap last year and this never showed up. Never got in ...just wanted to clarify. Did your online portal show transcripts not received before, but now, it shows that plus the individual school names? Or did it show school names directly?

i am on the cap and i do have them listed, i called the day before the individual schools went up and it just said transcripts not received and the guy told me that it was changing for everyone but only affected those who had been accepted. none of that concerns us unless we receive an acceptance is what he told me

Yea, not saying it means they're prepping for us because we're accepted, just that it will serve as a place to signify whether all transcripts were received in the event you are accepted and need to move on to the next steps of the matriculation process.

Just clarifying so no one gets the wrong idea from on my previous post!

Yeah I figured it didn't mean anything but I had to check just in case! Thanks for the info.

This wait is killing me. By far it's the most stressful part of the whole application process.

Hopefully some of us get some good news within the next ~week 🙂
