I think waitlist is not going to be created until April. Also, does anyone know when will South lower the acceptance score again?
They have had all of their interviews. Would love to find out if the acceptance score is going to be lowered again. This wait is killing me.

I don't think it has been lowered at all yet. I have yet to hear of someone getting in after a hold card this year. Maybe it will be lowered before waitlist comes out???

That is what I'm hoping for, but I don't know. I sure would like to call the office, but I don't want to annoy them.

Does South send acceptances, WL, and rejections via regular mail? Also, anyone who has interviewed recently or called the admissions office: have they given out a date for when they expect to send out final decisions?

Good question. I am not sure if anymore acceptances will be given out before waitlist. It seems like someone said that waitlist notifications and rejections will be by way of email but I am not certain.

I would think that since they have had all of the interviews, all acceptances have gone out. Now waiting for people to decline admission for spaces to open up. I don't know for sure. These are just my thoughts. The wait is excruciating.

Nah pretty sure they function in a similar manner to UAB; meaning that most people who get accepted find out after they have done all the interviews and lowered the overall score req'd to bc accepted. But hey, who knows?

But shouldn't they have lowered the score by now since the last interview date was March 12 and they have since sent out hold cards?

I was thinking it would make more sense for them to lower it after they finish all the interviews. From what I understand it was set pretty high initially. They could then lower it after they see how many spots they need to fill. This is all speculation so who knows. God I need a life.

They have finished all of the interviews, on March 12! That is why I am thinking the bar has been lowered. This is really getting old...

Also, I am wondering if this year things will be even slower due to UAB being late with their process.

A friend of mine who is an M1 told me that one of their class officers will start one closer to May when they have a final acceptance list

Screw their class officers, go ahead and start one. Just make sure the admin transfers it to someone else if they decided to go to a different school.

well to make a FB group you need to invite one friend to join in order to create the group...and none of mine have gotten into South. So if anyone would like to start University of South Alabama College of Medicine- Class of 2018, go ahead

Called the adm. office two days ago, and found out the score will not be lowered again;( Which means, at this point, only waitlist or rejection.

I had no knowledge that it had ever been lowered because no one I have heard of has gotten in after a hold card. We should know something soon.

^ agreed. Has anyone gotten an acceptance off a hold card?

I guess it is possible that they had enough qualified people to fill their class without having to lower the threshold. It has such a small class that I think that could happen. I was just hoping that there were more acceptances out there.
