Spica, looking at last year's thread, USF does not always give decisions within 2 weeks. Some people waited up to 4 weeks later in the cycle, as there are more people to give decisions on.

Yeah, I interviewed on October 1st and I still have not been contacted through mail or phone about a decision, so it can definitely take more than 2 weeks since I'm almost at 4.

Acception, thanks for the clarification. 4 weeks is still pretty good, and it is relatively early in the cycle so far, especially, for USF that only started interviewing on Oct, 1st.
 
For those that have gotten interviews, was there any change to your application when you view its status online? Mine says "Your application is ready." In fact, a few schools say that. Others let me know that my file is under review.

So my question is, is USF the kind that will just tell me I get an interview, or will they later tell me I'm under review and THEN you go from there?
 
They'll email first, then you call them to schedule. Then after you call to schedule, status page will update with 'interview scheduled on x'
 
So it'll keep saying "Your application is ready!" until I hopefully get an interview?
 
Could any current students describe the 'colloquiums' at the medical school? Are these like interest groups? I tried looking online but couldn't find much info about them.
 
For those who have been accepted, when did you receive the email after speaking with Dr. Brooks? I got the call yesterday and haven't gotten an email yet.

Are we supposed to get an email? I received a letter in the mail but no email.

Oh! Maybe I mis-heard! I haven't checked my mail (I'm so bad at that.) so thank you for letting me know!
 
Officially withdrew from my interview spot here. Hope it goes to another sdner!

When I interviewed at FIU a couple weeks ago, one of the people there works in admissions at USF and she said that they are very behind this year. 😱
I am hoping we hear something soon!

I'm hoping this is the case for all FL schools 🙁
 
Just got an acceptance call from Dr. Brooks! ECSTATIC! It is so amazing to receive a personal call, makes the great news even more special 🙂.

Congrats! I'm surprised they're receptive to these types of emails when they don't even allow updates. Did you just say you'll be in town on dates "..." and they said they have availability then? Just curious how those emails work
 
I let them know via email that I was interviewing with FAU on Friday, January 17. I politely requested that they expedite my review so that I might schedule an interview with them around the same time, provided I was deemed deserving of an invitation. I received an II the next day and scheduled my interview for Jan 14. I also explained to them that I am (very far) OOS and that more than one venture to Florida would be incredibly costly.
 
Did you happen to send any communications like updates or in the area emails??
