USF usually has a ton of waitlist movementJust out of curiosity, how many people in here with an A intend to matriculate? I'm trying to get an idea of how much waitlist movement there's going to be this year.
Please tell about the second look day for ppl who are on waitlist and may get an A eventually.I’m instate with an A. At second look a couple weeks ago, it may have been 2/5 of the accepted students were instate. I don’t know exactly, and this number may be high since it was an event in Florida.
We got to tour the new building, but none of the sim lab or anything. The building is really nice with amazing study rooms that have great views looking over the bay. My biggest takeaway from it was the overall happiness seen in the students. They seemed to love going to school there and expressed how many opportunities they had with Tampa General and all of the community programs in Tampa. In their words “You will never really be told no” when it comes to ideas or opportunities you want to pursue. If research is your thing, they had limitless opportunities with some people traveling abroad during the summer. I was really impressed. They explained that they have good prep for competitive residency—some MS1s already got some really great experience in surgery. Please tell about the second look day for ppl who are on waitlist and may get an A eventually.
Wow, super interesting to hear! I am honestly surprised considering the mess that admissions has seemed to be this yearWe got to tour the new building, but none of the sim lab or anything. sounds great! Did you notice anything less than ideal? Did the current students say anything about how they like the grading scale? We got to tour the new building, but none of the sim lab or anything. I sent a letter of interest via email and they accepted it! although I'm not sure how much of an impact it will makeDoes anyone know if they would accept an update letter now? Or a letter of interest with updates? From what I see, it looks like only a letter of intent is accepted...
Was this after an interview for waitlist ppl or did u send prior to decision?I sent a letter of interest via email and they accepted it! although I'm not sure how much of an impact it will make

Current students did not seem concerned/stressed about the grading scalesounds great! Did you notice anything less than ideal? Did the current students say anything about how they like the grading scale?
Absolutely make sure you negotiate for scholarships before accepting, hella people get good money from that (I didn't think to do it so I missed out)Just got a financial aid package in my USF email. It did not include any scholarships yet, but they have said that Admissions can grant scholarships at any time before matriculation. Has anyone had any experience negotiating with their financial aid office before?
I also attended Second Look. I do feel like the students were happy, and I liked all of the other attendees I met. I feel like their research was being pushed HARD, which, to be honest, was not super exciting to me, but if you are considering a competitive specialty you should have zero problem finding research opportunities to support that goal. I am pretty anxious about potentially moving to Tampa, so I'm hoping there is a Discord or GroupMe made soon...
CONGRATS STUD!!!!Just got the A off the WL!!!!
