I interviewed in September. Overall, the interview day is laid back. My interview group included 17 people. I would recommend showing up early. The admissions staff is very friendly, and they enjoy talking to all of the interviewees. Also, they will give you a list indicating who you will interview with, what time, and any specific directions. However, they have admission staff walk most students to their interviews. The morning starts with a welcoming from the Dean of Admission. The rest of the session includes specifics of the curriculum, the financial aspects, and then overview of student life. They will also take your picture which will be used for your badge if you are accepted and will be used for the class directory. Depending on if you have an outside interview prior to your interview day, you will have 2 or 3 interviews that day. I had an outside interview, so I had two interviews. Both interviews were in the morning, but I believe there were 2-3 people that had interviews after lunch. Both of my interviews were about 45mins to an hour and were a one-on-one interviews. I interviewed with two physicians, and they were open file interviews. However, the interviews were more conversational. The first interview was relaxed, and honestly felt like I was talking to a friend. There were the typical questions such as why medicine/physician?, what area of medicine?, but he asked personable questions like what do you do in your free time? what was the last movie you saw?. He also asked who was my role model. He said he was asked this during his med school interview, and then shared his answer. The second interview was conversational, but he did have a list of specific questions about my file. Our conversation covered just about everything from his experience as a med student, why he chose his specialty, and college sports. Between interviews, you sit in the lobby of the admissions office and talk with other interviewees and have access to snacks/water. After the interviews, 2 medical student take you on a tour of the campus. They answered everyone's questions, gave an honest opinion about their experience thus far with med school, and were overall friendly and informative. The day ended with a catered lunch, and you sat with medical students and the other people interviewing. Some of the admission staff hung around and asked how interviews went but they did not stay very long. There was not an official dismissal, and they said you could leave from lunch when you were ready. If you have any questions let me know.
