I really really really REALLY like this school as well. In state applicant.

Applying here! Has anyone seen the essay prompts from last years thread? Hoooooly crap. Fun fun time.

Good luck everybody! Hammer out the ridiculous amount of secondary questions early, they're kind of a pain. They didn't change last year from the year before, so it wouldn't hurt!

@LotsaLove Thanks for the heads up! I was hoping they didn't change it from last years. It's definitely a beast though! :diebanana:

Anyone get a secondary yet? Just submitted primary, EDP yesterday! Wondering how long it will take.

Are you IS or OOS? All applicants get secondaries, but don't expect an OOS interview until at least the end of January.

I'll be an M1 at KU starting this month. I'd be happy to answer any questions. The earlier you apply, the earlier you get notified of an interview. Expect an interview invite about a month after secondary is completed.

Which campus?

I am almost done with my application, and hope to submit it by Saturday for EDP.

@juice31 -- I was at the open house in Wichita a few weeks ago, too! I really liked the campus & it's my top choice among the three. Hope you get in despite your sGPA fears.

I am taking my MCAT in September. Have you gotten your score back yet?

I took the MCAT on May 8th and bombed the PS portion. ((sigh)) I'm retaking it on July 12th, which I know is cutting it close for EDP.

Good luck on your Sept MCAT!

Thank you, I will definitely need the luck. Good luck on your next MCAT. I am about 1/3 finished with SN2ed MCAT prep but am definitely struggling a bit.

I'm re-applying here! I got verified on 6/7 and still haven't received a secondary. Has anyone gotten one yet?

Secondaries typically don't go out until the second week of July.

For those of you thinking about which campus you want, those decisions aren't made until acceptances have been sent out. There will be a place on the application to explain your campus preference though, so out down a good reason!

Applying EDP and the wait for secondaries is killing me. That, and trying to decide what campus to show preference towards - IS from the Wichita area, but I really like Kansas City. The only one I don't want is Salina. :/ Any of you guys have preferences so far?

Kansas City! Grew up here and my entire family lives in the Overland Park area.

What do you guys think? OOS, 30 (10/10/10), 3.8 cum 3.84 sci. This might be my reach school since I'm from Missouri and know the area.

It really just depends. They heavily favor IS because it's technically the only med school in the state. I think it's like 92% in state. Outside of that it comes down to what OOS can bring to the program in terms of diversity and experience.

Not typical for them to have delayed secondaries this long....

OOS applicant. Just received a secondary.

Does anyone else's status page who submitted the secondary say "No Materials Received"? I'm slightly concerned 😵

Reapplicant here- bad MCAT and was told by dean that was the only issue. Graduated in May and retaking MCAT next month. Haven't been able to afford Amcas yet but it's pretty much ready to go. 🙁
Was invited to post bacc but didn't get accepted to that either, so hoping my MCAT improves enough they might at least waitlist me.

Everyone gets secondary here or do they pre screen?

Applying here...apparently OOS.

You got this!

Applying here...apparently OOS. I was born and raised in rural Kansas and left the state to attend a University. Now they won't consider me IS. Super sad i have no IS school now. I'm flabbergasted about the whole thing. Given the low number of OOS students they accept I wouldn't have applied had I known. I received the secondary last week and have been holding off sending it in until i could get a hold of someone to discuss my resident status and today i finally got through. All they had to say was i can fill out the appeal form, basically refused to discuss the situation. Debating whether i want to even turn in the secondary.

Does your family still live in Kansas? I did my undergrad out of state, but my family still resides in Kansas and I'm considered an in-state applicant.
