2014-2015 University of Kansas Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I interviewed in October, been deferred since November. Longest wait of my life.

Ah, yes. Welcome to the sad club we call the KU thread. Now that all interviews are finished, I really hope the final letters go out fairly quick. Although, I don't even think January people have gotten their first letters yet...

If memory serves, I believe we were told mid-March. In looking at last year's thread, March 18 is about when they started receiving letters.

January interview. Can confirm. Although, they did send us an email letting us know that we would get our letters this week.

It's the middle of the week that letters come out. To say my stomach is doing backflips is an understatement right now.

Hey guys! Does anyone know when the late January interviewees will hear back? Thanks!

Anybody heard back yet for the January 7-8 interviews?

Unfortunately not. Honestly, I wonder if they've sent them out. I know the office is understaffed and they have the premedical student conference this weekend. I could easily see our decisions falling...behind.

Received my letter today as well. On hold until mid-March. I'm assuming this is something to be happy about?

I mean, we weren't rejected yet so that's something to be encouraged about, but it's definitely a little discouraging.

Hey on the bright side they say most people find out about acceptance in March!!

You guys who interviewed early and are still waiting to hear back in March, I applaud you for your patience.

I interviewed in February; I'm pulling my hair and having crazy dreams. The wait is more stressful than I anticipated:dead:.

I interviewed on 1/30 and spoke to admissions this week- said decision letters would be mailed out by Friday or Monday at the latest

I still haven't heard anything...at all...wtf...

Literally haven't even heard about an interview yet. Like if I'm going to be rejected, please just reject me already

At my interview on Feb 12th I'm pretty sure they said Feb 13th was the last interview of they year unfortunately.

Oh trust me I'm not optimistic, but some kind of definitive confirmation would be nice

I was told I would at least hear something by the end of February

A friend of mine got "thanks but we're done with interviews" email around last week, maybe check your spam folder.

Have you called the office? Your obsession is a little unhealthy.

Well my neurotic friends, March is finally upon us. I was reviewing last year's thread and it looked like people started to receive their letters on 3/18. If the same trend holds true this year, it would fall on 3/16, being the third Tuesday of the month. Good luck to all.

Obsession? I didn't know it was considered an "obsession" to wish to receive a decision regarding something you have been waiting to hear about for months. Thanks for the judgment though, you clearly know me very well.

It's not an obsession. It sucks that you didn't hear from them, but if you weren't interviewed by now, I'd start on next year's application 🙁. I'm sorry man. I may be there with you if I get a rejection letter.

Call Beth. They're great about replying and giving answers. But you already know 99.999999% that this cycle is over. Good luck next year :\

Thanks 🙂 and ya I mean I'm already telling myself I didn't get in (already planning my attack on the MCAT again). I just kind of want the confirmation, ya know? I actually called earlier this month and was told I would hear by the end of February. I will call again tomorrow.

You misunderstand, but please - continue with your defensive posting.

If you think obsession automatically means something bad, then I think you'll need to do a little more research as to what an obsession is.

If you do not refer to "unhealthy obsession" with a negative connotation, then please do explain. In my experience, the term unhealthy has never been used to refer to something good.

I am a counselor in the mental health field. I understand the meaning of what an obsession is, thank you. Anyways no point in continuing this conversation.
