Everyone is talking about CCLs and I'm just here waiting for an II
Acceptance* haha opsAcceptence on 12/22! I applied in middle October, had an interview last Wednesday (12/16). I am definitely putting down a deposit., but I am not sure if I will definitely go. Anyone in this thread committed to Temple for the 2016 incoming class?
Eh, a ccl letter isn't really an enviable place. you know. Not too happy about this. Actually, I'm not happy about it at all.
Hopefully we all get there eventually!Don't mean to belittle your situation, I'm just saying I feel way behind.
Yeah, they have a list of student hosts' email addresses on the portal.Does Temple have a student host program?
got my CCL letter today. I'm pretty disappointed, as I thought both of my interviews went really well. Does anyone know how much movement the CCL list receives?
I interviewed in early December and the letter was dated December 16th. I've been out of the country for the past 2 weeks so I'm not exactly sure when the letter came but it was via snail mail.Sorry to hear that. When did you interview and did this come by snail mail?
That's interesting. According to MSAR, last year they interviewed 981 so that's a 20% drop...and I'm assuming they had an increase in applicants.the director told us 800 interviews this year.
When did you interview? My letter was dated ~2 weeks after my interviewIt is a mystery to me too. I have not even received a ccl letter yet despite being in Pa. It's possible it is a rejection at this pt but this being in between is just tough. Seems like temple is running a lot of interviews and then waitlisting a lot. I wish they did this by internet portal so we could know quickly.

November 18th and they said we'd know by Christmas. On the portal, my application is stated as "still under review".
What doesn't make sense is that if their class size is around 200, and they interview 800..... they would need to accept 2- 3x the amount interviewed to have one acceptance. I.e, they need to take around 400 people ( or half of their interviewees). So logically, if you are interviewed, you ought to have a 50% chance at acceptance.
Isn't that risky, though? You don't want to seem like you can't have patience. I thought all this time it was b/c I was likely on the CCL, but if so shouldn't the letter have come by now? That 50% acceptance rate is the final tally however. That number doesn't tell you *when* the acceptances are handed out.
I'd give them a call next week and just ask what your status is. It could be something along the lines of one or both of your interviewers not being able to make it to the committee.
I feel this way too. I feel like this application cycle has been very different from the past. So many wait lists compared to flat out acceptances/rejections! Which is nerve wracking because Temple is my top-choice, but if they have this huge wait list, my hopes and dreams of getting pulled off slowly disappear 🙁
The in-between time is tough, but here's to hoping it works out for all of us in the end![]()

So the question is why so many Sdners are being waitlisted. They also said they'd be more intentional with the WL this year. So either, they are waitlisting everyone even the people they would reject because they are worried about their yield, or SDNers are very not representative of the typical accepted temple student.
man, I don't know what to think.
Just say something to the effect of that you were told you'd know by Christmas, and just want to be sure there wasn't anything lost in the mail with the holiday rush.Isn't that risky, though? Their website says April 30th https://www.temple.edu/medicine/admissions/invited_for_interview.htmDoes anyone know when their CCL starts to move? Is it April?
I really want Temple to show me some love 🙁 anyone know about how many II are left to go out?
Does anyone know if Temple has a student host program? In the II email I received it said "Travel and hotel information can be found on TempleMedOnline," but I could not seem to navigate to the exact location of that information. Anyone with a direct link to or knowledge about hotel/student host info would be really helpful!
Found it. Thanks!Yeah they do. I think it's near the bottom of the "Home" tab of your portal, if I remember correctly. My interview is done so my info changed on there
