2015-2016 Temple University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If you have all morning interviews and aren't a minority you can be done by 2 or so, but it's pretty much luck of the draw.

I'm assuming this is for minorities underrepresented in the sciences, right?
Yeah it is for URM specifically, but if you have a flight I'm sure you could let them know you have to leave before

I was told that they meet every Friday for review. However, if the person you interviewed does not attend the meeting that week or successive weeks, your application gets pushed back since they are not present at the meeting to interview you. So, if your interviewer does not attend a lot of meetings and you interviewed very early in October, not hearing back may be because of the fact that you have not been presented yet, which sucks ( I know). I'm currently waiting and have been waiting for over a month. But, like you guys said above, no news is better than bad news? ....🙁

Did you talk to someone in the admissions office about the status of your decision?

is it possible to store luggage with the admissions office? I've never thought about this before but just realized i'll be going straight from interview to airport

Received an email a few hours ago asking me to respond to a survey asking for feedback on the interview day. I hope this means we are getting close to receiving decisions.
+1
So has no one received an acceptance yet? For any of the programs?

There have been 2 people on sdn who received acceptances awhile ago through email and a couple people received CCL status through the postal mail

I see I see. They were on the later side in general, even in just offering interviews, from what I can tell. I think I was in the first St. Luke's interview day, and they told us that the St. Luke's file review is the last Tuesday of the month (or something like that), so maybe I'll hear back soon. And I guess since they started later it really isn't that late right now, we're just all eager to hear back 🙂

I feel like given the fact that there haven't been many acceptances/ rejections (aside from waitlist letters), they are really trying their best to "batch" all of the applicants from late September/ all of October. When I visited, I know that the admissions committee said that the main campus sometimes has a problem with interviewers attending committee meetings regularly (who can blame them, I'm sure they've very busy people), which introduces problems/delays with the review process. By waiting, they get a chance to compare more applicants and therefore form a more meaningful class "demographic" before accepting, as opposed to accepting immediately depending on who shows up to the meeting.

Just my $0.02 based on what I've heard and guessed based on (as xerei said) my never-ending eagerness to hear back

Anyone that interviewed on a different date hear anything? I interviewed 10/7 and still no news

Hi, I did a search in this thread, but couldn't find it. I'm wondering if Temple accepts in the area notice?

To those just accepted, did you all interview at St. Luke's?

if you search on "in the area" you'll get multiple threads on the subject including input from adcoms.

I went from under review to is being reviewed in September, then back to under review and total silence!

Does Temple do pre-interview rejections? Or do they just reject at the end of the cycle?

People at St. Luke's (and I'm sure at the main campus) signed an NDA during our interview day, so we can't be too descriptive. They are standardized at both campuses and are definitely part of the interview assessment. However, since this is the first time they are doing this activity, the results are likely going to be preliminary.

Looking back, it's not really something you can prepare for--it's honestly just something where being yourself will help you the most.

This is what I mentioned earlier in the thread. Relax, I'm sure you will do great!

For the people who got accepted - did anyone get the "Official Letter of Acceptance" today like yesterday's email said we would?

anyone who interviewed in philly the week of oct 19th or later hear a decision yet?

I asked someone who is very familiar with the process. And, they told me this. The admissions office said that it would take 1-2 months.
Thanks for the info.

I am hoping its not longer than 2 months since I am only a week away from there

Just got a letter in the mail. Looks like I'm on the continuing candidates list. Anyone who interviewed early and hasn't heard back yet should probably expect the same....
