Is "recs" blanked out for anybody that's submitted the secondary?

yup! I think it takes them at least a week from date of submission for the recs to be uploaded to your file.

Is this something they do? You'll know ur status a day after ur marked complete? If so I like the turnaround haha.

Yes, apparently they're notoriously quick. @JulioJones was complete last Friday and got an II yesterday, for example.

Not exactly true. I was marked complete with recs on 7/6, and have not heard anything. (That said, it could have been a silent hold/rejection all this time...)

That's right, I forgot about the possibility of being put on hold... Let's hope that's not the outcome for either of us!

I would not expect to hear back in two days. That's somewhat unusual. The norm is more around a couple of weeks, if not a bit longer.

I'd say pretty bad. Going over means you're directly disregarding their instructions.

Not sure if I should bother trying to rush finishing my secondary since my school's committee letter won't be sent until mid-August... Do they give out IIs before receiving LORs?

Regardless of letters, they'll see when they invited you to do the secondary and when you actually did it, so I'd do it sooner rather than later. But that's just my personal opinion, it's not based on anything concrete.

My school's committee letter similarly won't be sent until end of July. How are you dealing with knowing you are being held up by this? It is stressing me out almost more than anything else related to this process these days.

Yeah I'm actually happy my school doesn't do committee letters, because it's ridiculous that you guys have done everything else but are being held up by the letters you have no control over. I'm sorry you have to experience that 🙁

I'm in the same boat with the committee letter. I guess the schools realize that it's out of our control and hopefully don't hold it against us.

For me everything else was complete like 4 days ago except my LOR which wasn't marked complete til today. Even tho I've had everything submitted and LORs in last week. So I'd say ur situation is normal.

Yes, there is a discrete hold status. The options after your application is complete are II, Hold, and Rejected. Some applicants undergo more rigorous review prior to being invited to interview, thus some people may wait longer than other to finally hear back. There is nothing you can do about this wait, and automatically interpreting it as a "silent hold" (no such thing exists) probably isn't productive. Until you've received your decision, speculating will likely just lead to needless anxiety.

I decided to submit my secondary despite not having my LORs in, and I'm so glad! First one down, woohoo!

Hey guys! I called Pritzker to ask about the delay in my LOR verification even though my primary was verified a long time ago. The lady was super nice and apologized for the delay, explaining that they verify all the LORs by hand. Then she took my name down and said she'd go ahead and verify me today. Sure enough, I check my application portal right after I hang up and it's already done. Boom.

TL;DR: call them if your LOR hasn't been verified yet!!!! They're super nice 🙂
