For everybody asking about PrEP, I think it would be prudent to go over the SOM website to get a better picture of who/what they want for the program. They seem to emphasize educationally-disadvantaged (eg. rural, low-income, broken families, URM) as a MAJOR selection component. You may already have checked into this, but I feel people toss around "PrEP" without being 100% aware of the purpose of the program. In addition, I interpret it as something for people with already rockstar EC's. Also, it says to directly contact the admissions office for more info on the process.
It is not a second chance for those who aren't admitted. I don't mean to be so frank, but I think it's worth knowing if you meet the criteria they are looking for.
I was a student assistant for a pre-med advisor in undergrad, and I've heard some of the craziest app mistakes people have ever made (not saying a rejection implies a mistake on your app, this is an uber-competitive process after all) and how some have been shut out their first app and got flooded with acceptances the next year, so if you want some advice please PM me.
