Anybody want to comment on how the interview was and how they liked the school? Has anyone been accepted yet?

Hey everyone! This year seems pretty quiet compared to other years... Sorry, I'm new on the website but I was wondering if annoys you got interviews? If you get the secondary application, does that mean you will get an interview invitation or they do another screening based on your secondary...? Also does anyone know the deadline for letter of recommendation? and if you went through interview can you tell me how that went and how long was the interview...? I am considered in state (i think) but I would like to get some insight... Thank you guys and good luck to everyone

I would still do the best job as you can on the secondary (though JABSOM does interview about 75% of its in-state applicants). I believe the admissions office asks for the LoRs after they invite you to an interview. Usually the deadline for that is a couple of weeks after you receive the interview invite.

I have not interviewed yet, but applicants usually schedule their own interviews with the interviewers (2 faculty, 1 with dean). The admissions office gives you their info so that you can contact them.

I would say my experience with the interview process was pretty smooth and not stressful. Besides the scheduling process of my interview dates, it was an enjoyable experience. The school is small, yet well-equipped. It's a clean campus with a welcoming community. Definitely among my top choices!

As for acceptance notifications, I was told that they will not be released until March.

Thank you for your quick and very clear answer. Do you know how long it take between the time you submit your secondary and the time they email you for interview...?
 
Is anyone going to the PBL workshop this Friday? Is there an attire required?

Honestly, I'm not sure what their timeframe is. I submitted my secondary early September and got an invite early November. Maybe it'll be quicker since it's December.
 
Got an interview invite! I attended the PBL workshop and really enjoyed it.
 
They told me that in March they will be accepting 60 of the top instate students and 10 of the top OOS students after the admission committee scores. As an OOS applicant that does not give me hope haha
 
Finally received an II! I do have a question for the folks who already interviewed or have scheduled an interview! Am I supposed to simply e-mail the contact person saying that I need to schedule an interview or do I also submit the packet in attachment? Thank you in advance!!

I'm also wondering this. But the packet had space to include information AFTER the interview, so I'm guessing we just email the contact?

I suggest you call the person at JABSOM who is supposed to email you the information...

So did they not allude at all to sending out early acceptances like they've done in the past? They used to accept people in small batches throughout the cycle and then the majority would hear back in March. But it sounds like from you and @dctkorea that no one will find out before March this year.

They told me people who score a 9/10 at the admissions committee will be notified right away. The score includes interview and application score.
 
Major bummer duuuuuuudes.... looks like I'm not gonna be surfing my way to an MD this year.. complete 9/2

My friend that is an M1 said that she knows of one person that just got accepted a couple of weeks ago. I just had my final interview today and they told me only a handful get accepted early and most will hear back late-March.

I think they will accept people as OOS offers are rejected. So for example, if an OOS student on the list denies the offer, then the 11th ranked student will be extended an offer.
 
Got II coming up. I'm not sure what to expect exactly and man, hotels are expensive. OOS btw. Any other people with late interviews and what are the chances of getting an acceptance as a late OOS interviewee?
 
Dear Arkragon, I think you should be fine. JABSOM ranks all of the applicants (not sure if they split OOS and IS pools) but if you're in the top 10 for OOS you will most likely gain acceptance. Also the WL movement for OOS should probably move quite a bit (I mean, look at the OOS tuition).

What would be a good MCAT score to get acceptance earlier?
 
This may be a very silly question. JABSOM doesn't accept updates, right? I always think they don't do that, but now, I am not sure...:eyebrow:

Update letters? You mean recommendation letters or updates written in letter? I always thought they don't accept updates.🙁
 
Do you guys know when they're gonna release the bulk of acceptances in March (early/late)?

waiting to do my second interview tmrw and then final interview early march...
