I read somewhere that you guys start in July? Is that orientation or class?
We started the day after memorial day with a week of orientation and then the first week of june was when actual classes started. Not going to lie the summer start is really hard but now that we're in fall i'm thankful for getting anatomy over and out of the way over the summer.

I kind of would like that. I’m just concerned because I’m in SMP. All my classes end in May but I have lit review in summer for August grad. I would be happy to cut it short instead of finishing to go to FSU. Have you guys heard of something like this or would that be a problem to them.

Current med students- although the secondary prompts #1-7 are made optional this year with the #8 being the only mandatory one, would it be bad to leave out the question "what field of medicine do you see yourself in 10 years"? Just wondering like how important was this question during interviews, etc. I just sincerely don't know, I've shadowed and worked under a lot of different specialties, i know what i deff DONT want to do lol. I've answered all the other questions with some being almost 400 words and others like 100 words, so this would be the only one i'd be leaving out, I'm just worried about leaving it blank

You can express that you genuinely do not know (and are open and looking forward to being exposed in medical school to various specialities, etc) and add maybe what type of environment you envision yourself in (rural, urban, underserved, etc.)

II this morning!!! My first MD Interview!! submitted 7/24 and complete 8/7.
CONGRATS! I actually have the same submitted and complete dates. Do you mind sharing your stats?

Thank you! LM 67, my residency is a grey area- technically OOS but I qualify for IS so I think they took that into consideration.

Y’all who are getting IIs is this ED or regular decision?

I submitted my secondary 8/15, received receipt but no complete email... anyone else experiencing the same?

Question for those with ii's or actually for anyone .... My portal still says the thing about not being considered complete until I pay the $30 fee. I paid it weeks ago and got the email confirmation of the payment and that application is now complete. But the portal has never changed. Is this the same for everyone?

Same, I do not have an II though.

My portal also says this, even though I paid and got the confirmation email. I think it's fine, but if someone with an II can confirm that their portal also said this that would be great!

I received an II and my portal still hasn't changed! It still says "Thank you for completing your FSU COM secondary application! You will receive instructions on paying the $30 secondary application fee soon.......etc"
So i dont think its anything to worry about!

I did a masters and one of my admission requirements was to complete the degree. So it will likely be an issue if you can't start at the end of may

We have several classmates who were admitted before completing their degree.

I received an email this morning from them stating “This is to notify you that your application for admission to the FSU COM is now complete and will be forwarded for review by the Office of Admissions.”

I didn’t know they did this... but *shrugs* it’s different than the other complete emails I’ve gotten from them at least.

did anyone with a fee waiver not receive a complete email? my portal still says the thing about the $30, but i never received an email to pay for it cause fee waiver. way before i sent in my secondary, i got an email saying they approved my fee waiver. Do they send complete emails in general?

I also had a fee waiver and just received my complete email today. I didn't receive an email to pay for the secondary either.

How did everyone tackle the family essay? I don't know if they simply want age/occupation or if they want extra stuff too

I tried to talk about my relationship with them and the parts of their personality I like best.

found out my EDP application didn't go my way so i took a long shot and submitted a few primaries. What do y'all think my chances are at this point?
I'm a business major, OOS, 511, cgpa and sgpa in mid 3.8's, pretty decent ec's
Should I be hopeful or just kiss my chances at a secondary goodbye

They are not shy about saying they prefer instate. I think they accepted one out of state last year according to the msar.

This school is 98% in state. 118/120 students are in state according to MSAR. Unless if you have a REALLY strong connection to the school or state then you shouldn’t apply here as OOS.

Slim chances for this school since they have a huuuuuge instate preference, but with your stats, I think you will get in somewhere for sure!! It’s not too late in the cycle to apply. Good luck

How long does it take to receive the email to pay the fee? I submitted later than I would've liked (9/10) and still haven't received it
