2019-2020 Nova Southeastern (Allopathic)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Did everyone use a credit card for paying the secondary fee like they did for casper (as they're both billed in Canada)?

While getting rejected is definitely not the best feeling, kind of nice that they are letting people know whether or not they made the cut now as opposed to them staying silent til March and then rejecting like most other schools

+ 1. Was complete the same day, looks like people aren't getting their decision within 2-3 weeks
I submitted my secondary 7/10 and queued for review 8/2, still haven't heard a dang thing. Think they meant 2-3 months /s

Is there a q'd for review email?
Well I guess I meant this one and just wrote it that way in my spreadsheet:

Dear Meepdog,

Thank you for completing and submitting your secondary application for the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine (NSU MD). The Office of Admissions has received your application and queued it for review by our screening committee.

If selected for an interview, you will receive the invitation via email, so please be sure to add “nova.edu” to your trusted recipients list in your email inbox.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes and what you think!

Any recent IIs?
Interview day went really well! Obviously I can’t say much about the MMI itself due to the NDA, but I will say it was probably my relaxed one (had two MMIs previously).

Campus is gorgeous. The new Nova hospital will be completed this year (?) and should act as a great clinical rotation. Staff was friendly, and the MS2s volunteered to answer all of our questions during lunch despite having an exam on Monday. I’m also a huge fan of the PBL-based curriculum and how friendly the interviewers themselves were. Fort Lauderdale/Plantation seems like a nice place to live, and I definitely would have no problem living here for four years!

Sorry if this interview day review isn’t up to my usual standards. Flying across the country from the West Coast takes its toll after awhile haha. Definitely looking forward to sleeping in my own bed and watching some CFB all day tomorrow!

No interviews since mid-August. I’m very grateful for the five I’ve received so far, and I definitely need a break from the near-weekly travel (originally thought it was smart to schedule an interview for each week LOL). Good luck to you and everyone else applying! 🙂

Thanks for the update! I'm sure you did great! Is there a lot of intermingling academically with the DO students?

Someone asked our MS2 (I say our, because we had four MS2s come for lunch and we split ourselves amongst them to ask questions) about that. He said MDs and DOs don’t really intermingle academically with DO students at all. Definitely a unique situation with Nova offering both pathways, but I wasn’t that surprised tbh. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks! Have a safe flight home!

I never received a complete email, does the queued for review email serve as the confirmation (haven't received that either)? Is this worth emailing them about?

I think it's the same thing?

I got this email after submitting:

Congrats everyone! Mind sharing when they're scheduling interviews for? Thanks!

They don't let you schedule they assign you a date and time! They also include in the email "As interviews involve many other people, applicants MUST attend on the date and time specified. We cannot consider changes to your interview date/time."

Wow! That's wild! Do you know what month people are getting assigned now?
