Can anyone that interviewed give me a rundown of the actual interview? I've been hearing so many mixed things and have no idea what to expect next week pls send help

My interview was 2 on 1. One faculty from Davie and the other from Clearwater (through webcam). They were really nice and not intimidating at all. The questions were general (i.e. describe yourself, why medicine, why NSU), nothing unexpected. I was on the same boat before (not knowing what to expect) but honestly, the interview day was more relaxed than I expected. The student ambassadors stayed with us most of the time which I felt that it really helped decrease my anxiety.

I hope my answer can be any help. If there is anything specific about the interview day you would like to know, feel free to DM me.

Any idea if they’re still inviting people for interviews?

I completed my secondary yesterday and received a phone call today, where someone verified my address and told me my application is going to be reviewed now. Maybe an interview is coming soon? Did this happen to anyone else before they received an interview? How long before you received one?

Yes, I received a call as well several months ago; silence since then. I hope you receive good news though.

I got this call too but I think everyone gets it soon after they are complete. I did get an II like 2 weeks ago which was about 2 months after my completion date. The phone call itself shouldn't tell you anything about the possibility of an II IMO

Hey guys, I'm just trying to get a sense of the schedule for first year. Do we have mandatory classes during the summer session?

Does anyone one know when the campus waitlist started? I’m trying to have an idea of where I stand.

Give them a call and ask!! They’re so receptive
I'm trying to avoid calling because on the waitlist form, it literally says " please, do NOT call or email for campus waitlist status." So I don't want to be that person lol

I have an interview here on Thursday and I was hoping to get some clarification. When I applied I don't remember having to chose between different campuses, but I would like to be in the main campus in Davie. From the talks here recently it seems that if I have an interview for a Clearwater spot or for a waitlist spot for Davie. During the actual interview do they let you clarify which campus you want to go to?

No, you get to choose when they accept you, you can choose to accept to clearwater or join a waitlist for Davie campus (if you never come off the waitlist for davie then you have acceptance to clearwater)

Got waitlisted. Interviewed 2 weeks ago. What's the waitlist movement for this school?

Are they still giving out II here?

If I wait another month or two to submit my Intent to Enroll form, is there actually a chance I could lose my seat in the Ft. Lauderdale campus and have to go to the other one?

From what I understand, if you made the full deposit, your spot is guaranteed for the campus you were assigned.

If I paid the first deposit for my campus, I can’t lose my seat if i pay the second deposit before the deadline right?

When I spoke to someone from admissions a few weeks ago, she told me it’s first come first serve for the full deposit, and to make it ASAP or I would be on the waitlist as well, even though my deadline wasn’t until March.

That’s kind of sketch haha

at my interview day, we were told that an acceptance is an acceptance no matter what. you have until march to pay the remaining balance - it wouldn't affect your status. but since theres confusion, theres never any harm in calling in and confirming 🙂

I think we have a bit of confusion here between the "Admission Waitlist" and "Davie Campus Waitlist." I do not know about others, but for me and those who got accepted when Davie is "technically" full. We have to pay both deposit ($1250+750) just to be on the Davie Campus Waitlist. If we do not get off Davie Campus Waitlist then we will have to go to Tampa Bay. The below message is what shown on the Campus Waitlist Form.

"Please note the required second deposit must have already been received and processed in order for this form to be valid"

I reached out to admissions a while back, this was our conversation.

My Question: "is the spot held at my preferred campus choice after putting down the $1250 deposit or full $2000?"
Admissions Answer: "The first deposit will reserve a seat at the campus of your choice based on your campus selection when you first completed your application. Your seat will be guaranteed once our office receives the full seat deposit of $2,000. If you had already made your seat deposit, "

Hope this helps.

*After you pay your whole deposit, they'll sent you an email letting you know which campus you've been confirmed at.*

Got an email about the certificate program; does anyone know this program and its statistics? Are the people meeting the statistics guaranteed a spot or given an interview? The wording made it seem like a spot is guaranteed, but that's too good to be true.

I got offerred this last year and didn't accept it, still regretting my decision. I think it's best you call them and clarify, however. I know many people who did post-bacs and got accepted to DO school after. While these are a way for the school to make money, if it gets you to your end goal then it is worth it IMO. Hoping they re-offer me this program this year if not an interview 🙁

Does anyone notice how they hardly respond to emails? The correct email is [email protected], right?
Not sure about that b/c I usually made a call instead. From my experience, they are very responsive to call, so I'd suggest doing that instead of sending them an email.

Was it dated for sometime last week? That must mean mine is coming in too :\
Good luck nevertheless!! They said they brought over 100 ppl off last year?!

It was dated on the 29th.
When did you interview?
Goodluck to you as well.

If you were offered last year, I'm sure you will get it again 🙂 I personally will choose not to as I already have a Masters and have spend enough money on education before $$$ DO school. Their $18k is a lot of money that doesn't guarantee a spot or a degree

This was on my Degree Works for 2020 students with the new curriculum as a heads up.

thanks! did they change the curriculum to be more condensed and start the clinical aspects earlier? also, if they have summer M2 classes, did they say how long they give for dedicated comlex and step studying?

Do any accepted students at the clearwater campus know when registration/ first day of orientation is?

I am not sure! I am an entering M1 student so I am not sure. The curriculum is setup in blocks for certain parts, excluding the first semester. You can login to your SharkLink and look at the dates of the courses and that will tell you which ones are block courses and which one are full-length semester ones.

hahaha we were just told today we get 4-5 wks.

It was 2 faculty with 1 interviewee. Just one interview of approx. 30 min.

for those that have been accepted, have you created a NSU email yet? or should I wait till after I make the full deposit? I've only paid 1250 as of now
Yeah I created one, it’s kind of a process though lol but you can do it after the first deposit is submitted.

Any current M1s here? How do you feel about the new curriculum? From what I saw online (and remember from my interview few months ago), its kind of like a semester system in college...Fall, Winter and Summer...with a few days break in between each semester? Do you think the school provides ample resources and support for the board prep, both COMLEX and USMLE (if students want to take both)?
And lastly, what made you want to come to NSU? Its a pretty expensive school and the area is expensive too. How much is one studio apt (not looking for luxurious high class)? I loved what I saw and felt there on my interview day. Thank you so much in advance!

Besides paying deposits, anything else acceptes should be doing?
