@justagirl213 : the impression i got was that in most situations it stops around mid-dec (i'm guessing the mid-jan thing is for last minute cancellations etc.) based on past threads. idk though, pretty much have given up on getting an II here :/
Oh really? I just think all the IIs they mean to send out in December but don’t get to because of holiday break just get pushed to mid Jan. I still wouldn’t give up hope tho! Mind you this is coming from someone who submitted on 11/9 fml

I'm sure the week between Christmas and NYE will have some II movement so you can see where they are at with interviews. It seems like they just hit Jan, so there is still some time

December 31 is the historical dead stop for the top 20s, and given their app numbers, this might not change due to Covid.

I might be biased due to my optimism here, but this is a sweeping generalization and isn't true for all T20 schools. For instance, UPenn historically has given out IIs in January. And COVID /does/ have an impact at some places -- a source at WashU said they might be interviewing into March

WashU St Louis? Optimism is good !

I attended a t10 undergrad/med school. My pre-health advisor told me last week that the med school adcom is ~2 months behind where they usually are in the cycle. She acknowledged IIs are typically done by the new year, as old threads confirm, then she emphasized this cycle is atypical. She said NOT to listen to any rumors that IIs are ending. She communicated with several T20 MD schools, and the general consensus she shared with me is that ~everyone~ is behind. Some schools have not even finished reviewing apps once-over. She also said they didn't anticipate so many IIs to be accepted. As a result, adcoms are scrambling to accommodate more interviews, but many are still trying to find a way to do so.

tldr; my t10 undergrad (also a t10 med school) says IIs are far from over + reports an extraordinary delay in the cycle across top schools

edit: let's please stop tormenting each other with hypotheticals. We all know this cycle is unlike any other. We've worked ourselves into the ground to get to this point. We made it this far, an exceptional and rare accomplishment in itself. What will be, will be! Let's avoid adding undue stress and focus on enjoying the holidays instead. <3

any current students by any chance know when they'll be done sending II's? seems there was a wave in mid-dec last yr that hasn't happened (or not as many posted). thanks!
Current M1. Can confirm 100% January will be the last month of interviews. That's all I know based on emails from admission committee

II both Pathways and HST. WL in Brown today, so kinda mixed feelings. Also, this proves the absurdity and how ridiculous is the whole process.

Complete mid-September. LM around 75, top 10 ugrad. scheduling for early jan

Does anyone know what the process is for letters of interest? Do we upload them to the portal or email them to admissions? And thoughts on writing separate ones for HST and Pathways, or combining them? It makes sense to combine them if we just upload to the portal, but the 2 tracks have 2 different admissions emails.

Their website lists the last MSTP interview date for the cycle as Jan. 12 but also says dates are subject to change. Dates might be different for MD vs. MD/PhD.

Here is the page that lists the MSTP interview dates:

Has anyone heard whether it is possible that some programs might add interview dates into February to compensate for being very behind on application review?

I don’t know about Harvard specifically, but I know there’s several schools that have had interviews beyond those listed on their websites.

i'm guessing they're done with II's here? :/
I emailed them and this is what they said: “If you are invited for an interview, you will be contacted via email sometime between now and the end of January. If not, the next correspondence you will receive from us will be notice of our decision which will come in early March”

Gotta love their warm style of writing

For those of us who interviewed, we are notified during the first week of March right? Did they set an exact date? I don’t wanna be checking my emails every second for a week lmao

Would it be possible /appropriate to post like the top several schools here (or on PM)?
The map only gives the interviewees for the day so unless someone was checking everyday and making notes, I wouldnt be too sure. Tbh I think the top schools represented by UMich (I know they are one of the few schools that are transparent) is a good marker for those at HMS. It seems to be that they get a sprinkling of every type of school but there is a bias towards t25 undergrads. I will say that not everyone at HMS went to a t25 undergrad so whoever reads this in the future, don't count yourself out.
