Stats? If you don’t mindIS II just received!
I'm a reapplicant but my stats are sGPA 3.7 MCAT 513Stats? If you don’t mind
Low Undergrad GPA; Master's 3.9#, MCAT 516+, URM, complete mid-julyStats? If you don’t mind
I’m usually pretty good at taking things in stride but wow trying to stay positive is harder than I expectedCongrats to everyone who has received an II!
For those who have not heard back yet, do not worry. I am a re-applicant who got to WL last cycle and did not receive an II until January.
Stats are not as significant when compared to your story and experiences for Brody - trust me. We got this 💪
I’m a first time applicant and I received my MCAT score today. Unfortunately below 500, I’m still continuing with the cycle in hopes they see past my stats.Congrats to everyone who has received an II!

That is the email I received. Don't know what happens after that.Do we get another email after the "Applicant Gateway Activities Complete" email?

It seems that interviews are given out in tiers of MCAT scores. Higher scores will be interviewed first. I’m in your boat with a 499, I’m just going about assuming I’ll need to reapply next year and preparing for MCAT in March and if I get an interview then all the better. The worst than can happen is I don’t get in but I’ll be prepared next go around. Bringing your score up 10 points is very feasible. But to ease your mind, I know many people who didn’t interview until January and got in.I’m a first time applicant and I received my MCAT score today. I don't know if this is true. 100th percentile MCAT but no II love from Brody so far.It seems that interviews are given out in tiers of MCAT scores. Higher scores will be interviewed first. Could be yield protectionI don't know if this is true. 100th percentile MCAT but no II love from Brody so far.
Yield protection is a meme. I get an interview there last year.Could be yield protection
Sure to an extent, but as the trend shows they are receiving more apps but interviewing less people. I believe yield protection is valid if one does not “fit” the typical metrics/mission/experiences Brody students have.Yield protection is a meme. I get an interview there last year.
They probably interviewing people for early decision right now and won’t get to others until after October 15. Anyone receiving acceptances before oct 15 is early decision anyways.Sure to an extent, but as the trend shows they are receiving more apps but interviewing less people. Also it’s WAY too early to be anxious about not hearing back! They are a smaller team but with them already starting interviews about 2 months earlier than last year, I assume they will be interviewing through Jan.
100th percentile?!!? Teach me your waysI don't know if this is true. 100th percentile MCAT but no II love from Brody so far.

I’ve known a few people with sub 500s get into Brody, even more with 502-505. Service oriented. I’ll just keep the studying going and reach for the 515 next go aroundIf that's the case then big RIP lol...
How are the students doing at Brody? Do you feel the stress level is typical for med school?current M2 at Brody. let me know if you have questions and I'll do my best to answer them. good luck to all - this process is a long slog but you can make it out the other side no matter the outcome
I'm going to assume you mean "how are they doing emotionally." I think my class is doing pretty well, which is to say, we're all stressed and a little cynical but not on the verge of mutiny, and we still manage to have some fun here and there. for us, it's really nice to be back in person after nearly everything was remote last year - I can't speak for everyone but I'm still basking in how cool it is to actually be able to talk to my classmates face to face. How are the students doing at Brody? I remember during my interview with them this year they were looking to have only sent out 30% of their acceptances by late November and that the large majority of their movement will be in 2022. That's all if my memory serves me correctly.Does anyone know when they start sending out acceptances? I know their website says oct 15 but I’m wondering if theyre slow to start sending them out or if I should be anxiously checking my phone!!
For reference I interviewed during the first week of interviews
That means I might still have a chance for an interview and acceptance. 🥰I remember during my interview with them this year they were looking to have only sent out 30% of their acceptances by late November and that the large majority of their movement will be in 2022. CONGRATS!! 😀Accepted today, unreal feeling, best of luck to all of you!
so, yes and no. most lectures aren't mandatory, but a lot of small group/flipped classroom/lab stuff is. therefore, even though you don't have to attend everything in person, you very well might have to be physically present for part of the day every day of the week in a given week. Can current students share the attendance policy? Are we expected to attend classes daily in person? I have a long commute and just wanted to plan accordingly.
Thank you so much for sharing your personal experience. I live 1 hr away, and if Brody and I are matched, I will consider having a place to stay a few days a week. I am not planning on selling the house and relocating my family to Greenville.so, yes and no. most lectures aren't mandatory, but a lot of small group/flipped classroom/lab stuff is. therefore, even though you don't have to attend everything in person, you very well might have to be physically present for part of the day every day of the week in a given week.
for example, looking at the M1 calendar for this week, they had an exam Monday, ethics small group on Tuesday afternoon, foundations of doctoring small group on Wednesday afternoon, and anatomy lab both Thursday and Friday morning. I will say the M1 calendar is a bit more in-person heavy than the M2 calendar due to having anatomy, histology, neuroanatomy, microbiology, etc. - there have been a handful of weeks as an M2 where I haven't had to show up to campus at all - though I'd say that's not the norm: most weeks I can expect to have to be physically present at at least one or two things, if not more, but it's much rarer to have something every day. today, for example, I don't have anything mandatory in person and will be chilling at home studying, as I don't watch lectures live unless attendance is required.
that being said, a long commute has an impact on things besides mandatory classes. if you want to attend meetings for any student-run groups, physician talks and panels, etc, they'll be either at lunchtime or during evening hours, and they might be on a day when you otherwise wouldn't have had to be on campus. and, during second year, the majority of M2s sign up to have a cubicle study space in the student area on the second floor, and a fair amount of interaction with fellow students happens there. therefore, many M2s spend all day at Brody anyway even if they don't have mandatory class that day. it's certainly not required that you get involved in any of that stuff, of course - I personally didn't want a cubicle and have been fine without one. but it's worth thinking about.
Don’t they usually offer around 120 acceptances before they fill a class. I think that’s what I’ve seen in the past.New Admissions Update -
As of November 1, 2021:
- Received 1143 verified AMCAS applications by the November 1, 2021 deadline.
- Interviewed 192 candidates.
- Offered 29 applicants a seat in the Class of 2026.
an hour's not too bad. I know a couple of folks who have tried to (or continue to) commute from 1.5 hours out and that's starting to push it a little.Thank you so much for sharing your personal experience.
