When I interviewed, I had the welcome session at 8am EST which was essentially an hour long Q&A with four 2nd-year students. There were only two of us interviewing that day so me and the other guy just had to go back and forth asking questions to drag it out for an hour 😅 so that went until 9am and then my actual interview wasn't scheduled until 10am. So I just logged off and nervously paced around for an hour and then logged back onto the link 😂 but the actual interview honestly wasn't that stressful. I was interviewed by an attending and a 4th year medical student, so I'd probably just expect the same. Since it was closed file, I didn't feel like they were just drilling me with questions but simply asking questions to get to know me. They definitely had a handful of prepared questions that they wanted to ask but then just asked some simple follow ups based on what I said, so it felt more conversational. And there weren't any questions that threw me for a loop or were tricky like some interviewers like to throw at you– they were all pretty normal (like I said, I felt like they were just trying to get to know me, not asking questions like "If you could be any vegetable, what vegetable would you be and why?"). I'd just go through the PCOM interview feedback page here on SDN to see some examples of what others have been asked and practice some of the typical interview questions (tell me about yourself, tell me about a time where you..., biggest strength/weakness) and you should be good!Got a II in late December, was complete 8/30. I was just wondering for those who have interviewed, is the welcome session at 12 and then you go to your interview link at the designated time? Also, any tips? I’ve only had one other interview this cycle and haven’t done a closed file format yet. Thank you!
A on 12/6 and still haven't received the email.Has anyone received the email with the technical standards to DocuSign? If so how soon after your acceptance did you get it? And does anyone know when orientation starts? For moving purposes I just didn’t know when classes started
congrats! stats?Just got an interview invite...for Wednesday. Exciting but dude short notice
512 MCAT, 3.7gpa, IScongrats! stats?
PCOM students get gifted a really nice stethoscope by the POMA foundation!weird question but does anyone know if PCOM students get a "gift" like other medical schools that give their students like a stethoscope or even some get ipads??? I was just curious
Thank you!!PCOM students get gifted a really nice stethoscope by the POMA foundation!
Dissection!Does anyone know if PCOM’s anatomy lab is prosection or dissection?
Congrats! I saw someone post a groupme link somewhere earlier in this thread!Just paid my deposit and I am very excited! Has anyone set up a GroupMe or Facebook group for the class of 2026 yet?
Thank you!!!Congrats! I saw someone post a groupme link somewhere earlier in this thread!
If you send it to a person it could sit in their box for a very long time. Send it to the general email account. Just be sure that your update is worth the time it takes away from reviewing some of the over 13,000 applications they get. I have said it before - your file should be as good as it can be at the time you submit it. Don't expect that they want to review and re-review a file during their process.I wanted to write a letter of update/continued interest, since I literally heard nothing back (I applied VERY early and paid VERY early). Anyone know if this school accepts/values this and who I can email it to? Was going to email it to Kari Shotwell... good idea? (GPA 3.5, MCAT 510, OOS, currently doing clinical work and MS program)
Will there be any acknowledgement that they receive the update or do we just send to the admissions email and hope for the best?If you send it to a person it could sit in their box for a very long time. I wrote an update letter with some new experiences and I just uploaded it to the portal instead. I think they’d prefer it submitted that way when I asked some advisors.I wanted to write a letter of update/continued interest, since I literally heard nothing back (I applied VERY early and paid VERY early). There is no confirmation if you do it through the portal other than you will see it in the portal that it has been uploaded. Will there be any acknowledgement that they receive the update or do we just send to the admissions email and hope for the best?
Thank you so much for your super helpful response!!! Hope you get that A!When I interviewed, I had the welcome session at 8am EST which was essentially an hour long Q&A with four 2nd-year students. My letter was mainly going to be a letter of continued interest (to stand out, etc, reaffirm how badly I want to go) so wouldn't this be more meaningful if I emailed it directly to someone?+1 on this. I think if a school offers you the option to submit updates via a portal, that is what they’d prefer.
I recall at the chooseDO fair even letter of interest they said they prefer it updated to the portal, but they do accept emails to the admissions email. just that they prefer via portal more.My letter was mainly going to be a letter of continued interest (to stand out, etc, reaffirm how badly I want to go) so wouldn't this be more meaningful if I emailed it directly to someone?
Congrats! Stats?II just now, date offered was 2/1
3.5/510/OOS/non-TradCongrats! Stats?
Yeah, noticed the same for me. Probably just another glitch. Maybe it's the date that they finally fixed the old one.Has anyone noticed their letters date has been stuck on a particular date, but not the correct one (like mine is on 1/14)? And it's no longer changing to today's date either. Is it still a glitch?
I think the majority of people don’t have any updates. I was also complete pretty early on and been silent. I’m also reapplicant and last year they just rejected at the end in May so it was silence for the whole cycle 🙁 I wish they would just let us know sooner if we’re still being considered or notwas complete in october... still no updates on status 😥. Is their class full yet?
If invites are still being trickled out there's still seats to be filled/hedged with a WL — hope runs deepwas complete in october... still no updates on status 😥. Is their class full yet?
It turned back to show the current date again.Has anyone noticed their letters date has been stuck on a particular date, but not the correct one (like mine is on 1/14)? And it's no longer changing to today's date either. Is it still a glitch?
What is going on with their portal?! 🙃It turned back to show the current date again.
Pre-II! Haven't heard anything since I applied/paid the payment, and I applied/paid extremely early. I wanted to email it (i.e. more personal and I could address it to someone specific like Kari Shotwell rather than to the general admissions email if that makes sense)I'm not sure. The tab on the website lists "Application Update, Resume, and Unofficial Transcript" as the options so I suppose emailing it to someone couldn't hurt. Are you pre or post-II?
Lectures are not mandatory, they’re all recorded which is really nice Bc you can watch them at 2x speed haha. Labs, active learning sessions (about once every 2 weeks) and inter professional education sessions (a few times a term) require mandatory attendance.Does anyone know if the lectures are mandatory/ recorded?
Oh dang really? I guess they're interviewing faster than they planned. When I talked to them in September, they said they'd interview until May :OGot an update from admissions they are interviewing through end of March
I mean recently they've been giving people a week or 2 weeks notice of an interview invite and it seems like they're assigned dates. And from what it sounded like was they have a queue of when they review each application for potential interview invitation as well. Apparently they haven't gotten to mine yet.Oh dang really? what are your stats? just wondering if they got to my application to review or if they've already passed it and said nope hahaI mean recently they've been giving people a week or 2 weeks notice of an interview invite and it seems like they're assigned dates. Not sure how they review. I had a friend who got an ii and they were complete 8/24. The interview invite was like 1/5 and then interview was like a few days after that. A week after the interview, they got in.I mean recently they've been giving people a week or 2 weeks notice of an interview invite and it seems like they're assigned dates.
