Does any accepted students have any answers to this?
"Accepted today. Idk how to word this but this is my anxiety talking LOL: Can others clarify if, hypothetically, I am waiting to hear from other schools, I shouldnt lose my spot before December 14th right? I can technically sit idle till the very last second in December and still have my spot? Should I submit my campus selection even if im not 100% sure I am going here? I am over the moon about NSU and likely will want to go here but I do have other interviews and I just want to understand the details of my options of accepting my spot."
That was what I understood from the forms they sent to us: you can wait until December to accept the offer. But you need to pay the full fees ($1250 + $750) so your campus selection is processed.

Dumb question but on th secondary when it asks what level of degree are you seeking is this professional or doctoral?

Hi guys I was wondering how far out interviews have been scheduled? Was complete 8/30

Can any current students or people from around the area offer advice on the best apartments around there, or better yet, which ones to avoid? I saw the list of housing places on the graduate site but just wanted a student's perspective.

Would it be really that bad if i went here? I know people say stuff about this school but it seems like everyone says stuff about all the DO schools
🙁

Any US school is better than the Caribbean and other options tbh no matter what everyone says, every school has it flaws

My approach to the cycle has been “beggars cannot be choosers”.. in my opinion this is something you can/should consider only after holding multiple As, cuz like someone else said it’s still a US-accredited medical school

I have friends that go here one is M1 and the other M3. The only thing negative they speak of is the culture. They say there is no sense of community and that some people just look for opportunities to stab people in the back. So what they told me is is that they found a good group of people to be around and the small group is very supportive of each other. This is obviously not my opinion this is just what they told me.

I have As so far at nova, ACOM, WVSOM, and pretty sure WCUCOM but I’m heavily leaning towards nova but it’s really making me second guess myself

Wow that’s so intense like about the culture

Keep in mind though yes friends go to Nova but they dont have experience at other school so it could very well be the same every where. Not just a Nova thing

WVSOM is a state school. The fees are significantly cheaper than the others you mentioned.

Does anyone know if NSU accepts update letters or letters of interest? I’m really interested in this school and haven’t heard anything from them

What are your thoughts about West Virginia? I have upcoming IIs at WVSOM and WCUCOM. But WCUCOM is under heightened monitoring for accreditation. Not surprising because it is a new school. Not sure why VCOMs are in the same category. Not looking good for VCOMs which are established schools ,

Tbh the faculty at wvsom seemed really awesome and the students seemed happy. The campus is also super big and pretty. I just am not sure if I can live in a town that small

current wcucom student. i've had an excellent experience so far, and faculty and staff are working diligently to improve our experience year over year. I am gonna copy what another student wrote on an older thread when the accreditation reports were released 12/2021!

"For WCUCOM I know it was the research component per our dean, I know the school is actively working to correct this and has hired more faculty dedicated for research. Feels like COCA has(thankfully) increased some accreditation standards for research and other things requiring atleast one core rotation with residents and inter professional education etc. i feel like WCUCOM has improved quite a bit since the last site visit in 2014 but the standards have just increased"

NSU has both an MD and a DO medical school on the same campus. It is not only a DO school but also a not-for-profit, private university that offers all of the four-year degree programs, master's and Ph.D. programs, and a law school. Accessing research must be easier. I'd also check their residency match list, which is not bad at all.

Each person might have their own personal reasons to choose to attend a particular medical school of choice, and all of these reasons must be valid. It is a four-year journey.

Personally, I'd prefer to study at a medical school on a big campus in a big/metro city (with a mild climate if possible) instead of a secluded town.

those were the exact reasons i'm leaning towards nova as well. thank you for the advice!

Anyone got the complete Aug 30 or later and received an admissions decision?

I never received a complete call or email from NOVA. When I go to what items are missing, it says that my transcripts are not received even though AACOMAS should have sent it. When I emailed the advisor, they said I was complete. I have not heard back from them at all even though I submitted at end of June. Should I be worried? Should I contact them again?

has anyone interviewed in person lately? is it at the davie campus (3200 South University Drive)? just making sure.
