Is it worth submitting an application for AWSOM as a TX resident? I know they're focusing on IS applicants and have a small class size. I have only interviewed at one school so far, and despite being IS, it's probably going to cost the same and is roughly the same distance (500+) miles from home.

I haven't taken Preview and their website says it's recommended.

I applied OOS and have not taken preview

Secondary received. Doesn't seem to be a limit for characters/words

Sorry my financial literacy with medical school apps isn't that great but though tuition is waived, does this mean if I'm admitted I have to take out private loans for other expenses until accreditation ? So potentially not having Title IV funding for the first (update: and second) year for loans ?

When is the earliest a new medical school can get Title IV funding ? (Update: google and sdn streets say minimum 2 years of institution functioning but good to know I guess)

doesn't look like they screen too heavily for secondaries. I received one 2 days after submitting primary

The website has a lot about curriculum but I did not see the grading system mentioned.

I went to a webinar and they mentioned it being high honors/pass/fail
 
Anyone who submitted their secondaries feel like sharing how they approached the whole health question? Did you talk about self care? or how you handle stress? or kind of a combination? (in addition to the community approach) anything is appreciated, thank you!!

Is it worth applying to AMCAS to apply solely to this school? Tx resident with stats aligned more for DO schools, but assuming it’s a new class I’m hoping they are accommodating for lower stats

Honestly, if you are applying to this school and have to create a new AMCAS application, I wouldn’t recommend it since it’s honestly a lot of work and this school is going to be free, 48 students, and has regional bias to four states and one of them isn’t Texas. It’s up to you depending on how much time you have but if you don’t have the stats or a compelling mission, I would avoid an AMCAS application for one school

The free comment is in regards to how competitive it will be
 
They've prob been slammed bc "free tuition and fees." Also, they opened applications after most AMCAS schools are long done and many people are nervous and/or feeling desperate enough to toss a Hail Mary application at this school. A friend did an online info session and said it was jammed and while not actively discouraging people, the Admissions Rep made it clear the school was starting up (in the town the WalMart Empire began) to serve Arkansas, esp. NW Arkansas. I'd analogize it to how Texas (slightly wealthier than a Walton) started UT Tyler and UT RGV in recent years, taking folks likely to stick around in those places.

Those of you that got II were you within the region that they are preferring or have any of you gotten OOS II from outside of the preferred region?
