Good luck to applicants to here next year! Very warm and friendly vibes from the administration during the interview day and admitted students are telling me that Jean is just as cool in person 😎.

Reminder: PREview is NOW required for this program.

Does anyone know what the average accepted stats were for the first cycle?

Not for certain. From our group chat, 505-515 MCAT and maybe around 3.7 GPA. Perhaps a 508-510 average MCAT.

to add to @ClashRoyaleKing I interviewed here this past cycle, WLed. however, everyone was so amazing and friendly, it's sad it didn't work out for me, but i'm excited to reapply

Looking at last year's secondary prompts, regarding the below, by "medical community" are they talking about (a) providers, (b) patients, or (c) providers + patients?

"We believe in building a culture of diversity and inclusion along with the dignity and worth of all people. What do you see as the opportunities and challenges of an increasingly diverse medical community and how are you prepared to flourish?"

I started answering as option (c)

Last year, I answered along the lines of (c). Maybe even more broadly.

Hey I'm late to the party, but was traveling through Nashville to admire Vanderbilt (Not applying there lol) and see the sights, when I came across this school. The building really is a masterpiece up close, and certainly doesn't look like some haphazard new construction. Since its new, I was wondering if there's any current accepted students I could chat with. Currently applying to in-states in Florida, but wouldn't mind living in Nashville for a few years.

Several admitted students in our Waitlist chat from last cycle. You can find it in the 2023-2024 Belmont thread!

Thanks. I'm fairly new to forum posting.

Anyone know how welcoming this school and its community are to LGBT folks?

I got a 4/9 on PREview, yall think I'm cooked?

Does anyone know if they will accept a preview score from last year or will I need to retake it again this year to apply? Most schools this year have been fine with my score from last year but I can not find any info for Belmont.

Preview scores last two years. Should be fine.

+1 OOS

Anyone know if this school qualifies for federal student loans? 🤔

Belmont admissions committee when they see my application again.

How long after being verified did they send yall a secondary? Hoping for some love from ole Belmont!

I'm eager to see their MSAR data. When do schools typically update theirs?

We may have to just look for press releases or social media stories about their inaugural class.
Their White Coat ceremony will be Aug 1 and maybe we'll see a class profile after that.

For now, there is no data on the MSAR.

Can anyone provide advice on the third secondary question? I'm confused about what "ambiguous problem or project means". Does ambiguous mean it can be any problem, academic or not, or does ambiguous mean the problem ITSELF is vague/ambiguous (like "I felt sad one day"???). I feel like the latter doesn't make sense because you would end up articulating the specifics of your issue in the essay but the wording is really throwing me off

I personally approached it as them wanting to hear about an experience that would show that you're capable of navigating being part of the second class of a new medical school and problem solving/being proactive to improve the school. The wording of the question was weird and I'm not sure that I did it right, but I just explained a situation of problem solving that showcased my skills that would be valuable to them.

I know Belmont is a Christian Uni, anybody know how much this is involved in the curriculum here? I’m not religious, so if it’s going to be a similar level as a school like Loma Linda i’d hate to deprive a spot to someone who aligns more with the schools ideals

This is very helpful, thank you! I also mentioned this question to my partner who is in CS/software development and he said the "ambiguous problem" thing is a very common question in corporate interviews, supposed to be like "I need a solution that will help XYZ process work faster" and you have to demonstrate you can come up with a creative solution when there's not one "right answer" or "specific instructions". Haven't ever seen this in the medical school context but I'll probably combine his perspective with yours to tie it back to the "why Frist" idea

It's definitely not loma linda level. From the info session I got the vibes that they are more like the jesuit schools in their mission but less explicit about it because they aren't catholic. All faiths welcome and encouraged
