IS II today, complete 8/19. I don't have a long history in the IE (activities list shows I've lived in LA forever) but I moved here recently and have strong family ties. Good luck everyone!

Anyone having issues accessing the interview? It keeps saying I no longer have access to the interview, I am within my week limit.

When I reloaded the page, it said I did not have access and needed to open the URL directly from my email. Maybe that's the problem?

I have been opening from my email! I emailed the admissions office but I know they wont get back to me until Monday. So I am hoping it resets itself and I have access later today or tomorrow. This is really stressful though.

For those freaking out or will eventually see a waitlist the cycle runs very late. I got my II sometime sept. and completed the interview on 10/5. Waitlisted and heard back from them in like February (literally silence from october to feb…). Got in may. Lots of my fellow m1s got in during may.

Have you been able to access the link since Saturday? I had the same issue and lost access yesterday.

I JUST got off the phone with the admissions office! They sent me a brand new link as I wasn't able to access the old one all weekend! Good luck!

You have a minute to answer each questions and a minute and a half to prepare for each question. It was very much like casper but it wasn't that difficult! Good luck!

just received an II! do you think it's possible to do it in 30 min? I have volunteer shifts that I can't find coverage for : /
It says it should take you max 35 minutes and that was pretty accurate I would say! I would leave yourself some wiggle room though just incase something unexpected happens.

Hello folks,

Congrats to those who got an interview. I just thought I'd drop some knowledge on how the kira interview went last year.

The actual format is very much like Casper where you get told a question, have a little time to think, and then respond. There were nine questions I think, but there was an additional typed one at the end that threw people off. They may have changed the format since last year because it was the first year, but that's what I experienced.

The questions are a little quiet sometimes so I'd recommend wearing headphones and just blasting your ear drums out.

I remember that we were told that an entirely different group of people review the interview and then just give the highlights to the admissions committee.

Take all of this for what you will.
GOOD LUCK

How does it work if I answer a question faster than the given time? Would I just wait for time to run out or can I choose to go ahead with the next question?

You can choose to go on to the next question!

Are we able to jot down notes or is that not allowed?
Nothing says it's not allowed, but I was personally better served by using the time to practice my answer out loud all the way through. It helps you figure out how much of a story you can cram into one minute, and also helps you not stumble midway. That's just me though.

is it just me or did anyone else hate the way the interview is handled? It felt so awkward talking to nothing. Like how do you expect me to be empathetic to nothing :1poop: I've heard nothing but good things from my other traditional interviews, but I definitely bombed this one. Oh well.

Last year I absolutely abhorred the interview style. I find it really difficult as well. I doubt you bombed it though!!

Hoping for the best! I still got my UCR MMI soon which I think is going to be better since it’s done with live people.

Did anyone still not receive their secondary from this school? Should I contact the admissions office to ask about this?

They screen for secondaries. Just give it time, you may receive one you may not. However, i would say dont reach out as they technically dont owe you one.

Does the Kira interview have more traditional questions like why medicine and why CUSM?

Did yall dress up like blazer, dress shirt, tie for the Kira interview? Not sure if we’re supposed to treat this like other interviews or if CUSM Adcom see our responses

I'd treat it like any other interview to be safe!

Does anybody have the U.S. News total acceptances number? MSAR has the number of matriculants and interviews, but # of acceptances given out is only available behind a $60 paywall. It's such a new school that there aren't many post-II acceptance data points yet so I'm desperate lol.

Admit.org says 244 total acceptances offered and 529 interviews offered or 46% post ii acceptance

Hi! For the kira assessment, are the ethics based questions just general life ones or are the specific to medical scenarios? Thank you!

Do I have to do the Kira assessment before I’m able to schedule an interview? No available dates on AMP.

Pretty sure Kira is the interview
Lol just figured that out. Thank you!

I am curious if these pre-recorded questions will be specific to CUSM. It seems like they are mostly ethics based but I am still kind of unsure what to expect...
